E-Mail Question - Hi Wesley, my name is ... . I have written you before. I just wanted you to know that I listened to the broadcast that you did on suicide in schools. Just thinking you should know, I teach in an Elementary school in the Florida schools. I'm a 2nd, and 3rd grade teacher. That story should serve as a sad reminder that life should be more precious then it is. However I have to disagree with you when you say that its just little things such as being fussed at for not doing chores or having a spat with a friend, that pushes young girls in to deep depression, it goes much deeper then that. You need to read an article that a girl wrote last Monday called "Growing Up Too Early". This article is written by a 12 year old journalist student from Watauga county middle school NC. Please read, and discuss it. I believe the writer points out some of the things that young girls face today. Thank you; E-Mail Question - Hi All, In a recent discussion someone was called on for being unkind to others as he defended the truth. The response of the one called on was "sometimes boldness warrants insults toward those who resist the truth." This person used Matthew 23 to defend their position. How should one respond to this attitude? Are we not to teach the truth in love? We can be bold, and still be kind; Phone Call - Question concerning the thief of the cross in relation to Romans 10:9-10?.

Also thanks for the wonderful teaching you do on the program. I look forward to Arise To Truth each week.; Looking at the different teaching that came our of the manmade teaching of Calvinism; E-Mail Question - I believe I heard you say one time that Russia and the United states are not mentioned in the Bible. Well, the names are not, you are correct on that. However, let's look at some verses and use logic to see if they are mentioned. Daniel chapters 7 and 8 please read. It talks about 4 beasts which represents 4 nations. The Lion; E-Mail Question - I am listening to ATT right now. Answer my question when you can. My question: Some time ago I heard Wesley say he had attended a Church of Christ somewhere and he had some problem with the way they conducted their service (I can't remember what it was...it might have been something to do with the singing). My question has to do with the way the Church of Christ is governed. What if a certain congregation was to "get out of line"....example: perhaps they decided to include musical instruments in worship. The question is: what would be done by the central headquarters or whoever governs the Church of Christ? Thank you.

E-Mails - Hello All, Recently I had a discussion with some Jehovah Witnesses. The discussion concerned the earth becoming a paradise. One verse they kept quoting was Matthew 5:5, The meek shall inherit the earth. They sited other verses in Psalms about the earth enduring forever. I cannot remember the verses in Psalms that they used. I found some verses that I think they might use to support their argument (Psalm 78:69, Psalm 104:5 and Eccl. 1:4). I pointed out that 2 Peter 3:9-10 states the earth and the works therein shall be burned up. Their claim was that only the works would be destroyed, not the earth itself. I'm sure you are familar with this doctrine. Please explain the verse in Matthew as well as the other verses. We know that the Bible does not contradict itself. The Bible is always right, its man's interpretations that are wrong; Dealing with these passages - Psalm 78:69, Psalm 104:5 and Eccl. 1:4; Caller - Discussion of the word forever and everlasting, What about the lion laying down with the lamb and the 1,000 year reign, Also explain Mark 16:16.

E-Mail - Hello All, I e-mailed you Tuesday about the movie Religious (pronounced: Relig-you-us). Bill Maher appeared on The View (I do not watch this program. I saw this during a newscast.) Maher challenged and made light of the Biblical account of Noah and the flood. He stated that 60% of Americans believe that the flood story in Genesis is literal. One hostess said she believed the account. Maher went on to say that 60% of Americans believe that a 900 year old man collected two of every kind of animal including over one million insects to put of the ark. He went on to make fun of Noah with the following statement, "A 900 year old man gathered two of every mite and tick and got them to have sex on a boat." Those hosting the program joined in the fun making. It was clear when Mr. Maher spoke of Noah being 900 years old at the time of the flood that he has no knowledge of the Bible or he would have known that Noah was 600 years old when the flood came upon the earth. It saddens me to think that such ignorance prevails in this country today. It irritates me that people think garbage like this is funny and uphold the rights of those who promote it and at the same time try to silence the Bible. It seems like the only ones who are not being allowed to express there view are those who believe in God. Will America ever wake up? When God is rejected then how can one wonder why America is in trouble. Thanks for you time, and thanks for listening; E-mail question - Hi Wesley, I would like to ask you a question please? Is it a sin to use self defense to protect your home, and family? Some preachers say that it is, by using (Matthew) 5 where the Bible says to turn the other cheek. These preachers say "that it is a sin to defend your own family, therefore its also a sin to defend your country." If this is true why did David fight the giant? There's so many more other verses I could bring up, but I hope you understand where I'm coming from! Can you help me please! Love ... God bless you, and good day; Caller - In agreement with what is said about protecting family and property, Please explain this type of covenant making God did with Abraham.

The name of this movie is Religulous. Bill Maher from HBO is involved with this. It is my understanding that Mr. Maher is an atheist. The movie is a blatant attack on religion. The previews are very offensive, one even shows a man portrayed as Jesus being interviewed. The scene clearly make fun of the BIBLE. There is some information about this movies on the internet that you may want to take a look at. Keep up the good work. I enjoy the program and look forward to it each Tues. and Thurs.; Going back to discussion on what baptism will not do.

E-Mail Questions - Hello All, In science class our kids are taught about animal adaptation. Is this not another way of teaching evolution? We tell our kids that animals are the way they are not because they adapted to live in their environment but because God designed them this way. Please comment on this. Thanks.; E-Mail Article - Most Baptists think we miss the boat. Southern Baptist preachers responded to a survey about who they would re-baptize from other churches. There was this statistic: If the prospective new member had been immersed after conversion in a church that believes baptism is required for salvation, 13 percent of Southern Baptist pastors said they would not require baptism. The research director expressed surprise: “Finally, and I am guessing most surprising, one-eighth indicate their church would accept a baptism from churches that believe baptism is required for salvation, possibly including such churches as a Church of Christ,” he said. So most Baptist preachers think NT Christians don't understand the gospel. Eighty-seven percent of them would say we have a works-based religion, most likely. The disagreement with them and their denomination is mutual. I would, however, hope the percentage would be higher among our preachers and brethren of not accepting Baptists without requiring them to submit to Biblical baptism which looks forward to receiving in the act the forgiveness of sins (Acts 22:16).; Discussion - The Purpose Of Baptism: what it cannot do and what it does for us; Caller - Is the blood of Jesus enough so save one from their sins.

Question from mail - Where did Hannah take her son Samuel after he was weaned? I Samuel 1:24 said she brought him to the house of the Lord in Shiloh. What was the house of the Lord? I recently read in some Sunday school material that Samuel went to live in the temple. How can this be, when the temple had not yet been built? Was there more than one temple? Discussion: Continued studies in the Mormon's belief, The Book Of Mormon: A Book Of Fraud And Error; Question from e-mail - On Tuesday (April 22) Mr Simons said that there was no Biblical Authority for the pope. The Biblical Authority is found in Matt. 16:18-19. The authority is from verse 19. Peter exercises his authority in the earliest dispute in the church and teachings found in Acts 15. Jesus in John 21:15-19 tells Peter to "feed my sheep." This is how I interpret the authority for the Pope. I am sure you will interpret it in a different way. Who is right?.

E-Mail Question - Hello brother Simons, I have a question for Arise To Truth. I have been in the process of studying the scripturalness of singing groups. These groups are composed of Christians (sometimes all male but mostly both male and female) who sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs (usually a cappella) outside of the worship assembly to a crowd of people and are almost always applauded afterward. What does the Bible say about this matter? God bless; Caller - Do we do the right thing in leaving a concert when Gospel music begins?; E-Mail Question - Hello, I listen to ATT on WZAP whenever I have the chance. I notice people are e-mailing their questions now. My question: If Christian music with musical instruments is wrong in the Assembly worship setting, is it also wrong to listen to it on one's personal time? I don't think I've heard you address this before. Thanks; Question from E-Mail - Hi Wesley, My name is ..., I'm the one the emailed you about Mark 16 verse 15. However you completely miss the question. I was not asking why you Wesley Simons, or any the speakers on this program wasn't doing anymore. I was asking why you as the body of Christ as a whole are not doing more? Now I took Bill's comments as that he was attacking me. That may not be how he meant it, but that is how it came across. If he'd said we need to get right, and then go knock on doors that would have been diffrent, but he said you, implying me my self. I don't no how else to take. I don't know you, or Bill, or any of the other fine speakers on this program, but I know how it sounded. Please understand I'm not mad, I'm just confused. Next I have heard even from the Church of preachers their selves say that a woman it "Second class trash". They also say that a woman must "Let her husband run over her". These preachers also say that a "woman's husband can force her to have an abortion if he doesn't want the baby". Do you believe this to? By the way I moved from the Saltville VA to a little community called Stop Over Kentucky KY for short. Can you comment when you get the time Please. Also can you ask 1 member from the churches of Christ from Saltville to call in, in address these questions on the air? I enjoy the program, but when you assume that something is being ask when its not is when we get in trouble. God bless you, and good day. Love ... if you can find it in your heart to forgive me..

E-Mail from last broadcast - I would like to ask you where the Bible says to mark, and avoid them who are teaching error? All the other preachers say if you mark them, and avoid those who teach other beliefs that you are being hateful? Where do these preachers get that point if the Bible says to mark, and avoid them? Sorry for not being able to spell that good, but I hope you can understand the questions. Thank you for your time. God bless you, and good day. Caller - Why has this country lost its Christianity belief? E-Mail Question - I understand that about 40 men inspired by God penned the Bible. I have a list of the 8 men who wrote the New Testament. Would you give a list of those who through God wrote the Old Testament? Thank You; E-Mail question - I was listening to the broadcast at work today, and I felt like that Bill went out of his way to attack the writer that ask about knocking on doors. He stopped short of questioning if the writer was even saved or not. Why was that? I was thinking that you were to love every body, not just thos that support you. I'm not trying to be mean, but it sounds like maybe Bill may not like this writer. I have been a member of the church of Christ for 3 years, and I have never heard anybody treat anyone like Bill did to day. Please comment; E-mail question - First to the one who wrote the E-Mail not only should the preachers, and teachers of the church of Christ go knocking on doors, but even the members should be knocking on doors as well. Note that doesn't let the preachers, and teachers off the hook, that just means that not only the preachers, and teachers should be knocking on doors. Next Bill kind of sounds as if he was attacking the one who wrote the e-mail. He said that the writer should make should they were right with then go and knock on doors their selves. I would like how does Bill stand with God? How is Mr. Bill's own heart? By the how does Wesley Simons stand with God? How is your heart? I was saved 2 years ago, and have been faithful to the church of Christ. Not some man made church, but the church that Christ died for ... I am not trying to be mean, but I love you enough to point out where you are wrong. Oh take your time answering the question I have sent you. I will be listening. Good Day; E-Mail Question - Hi my name is .... I would like to respond to what Bill Haywood had to say. He said that I should make sure I am right first, and then I should go knocking on doors. First I am a woman, therefore I would have no right to do anything according to most Church of Christ "preachers". It sounded kind of like you all must hate me for asking that question. Why? Not every body has a phone, or the internet, or cable TV, and not every one can pick up WZAP that clear. We're I lived in Saltville, up the Valley we didn't have TV. While in Stop Over KY I have a little better signal on WZAP, but I don't have that much. I look forward when it comes on the website. Please respond. Good day; E-Mail Question - I would like to know when Peter told the people how to be saved he also said they would receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, but what was the gift? Can you answer please? Questions from E-Mail - What is the doctrine of the Three World Ages? This was mentioned on a television program that I was viewing late last night (March 17, 2008). Someone asked a question about the earth being around six thousand years old. The speaker however did not go into an explanation of the Three Ages of the Earth. And aren't you depriving someone of using their talent for the glory of the Lord, by refusing to let them play their piano and make a joyful noise to the Lord? I think God would be highly displeased if he gave a person a talent to play a musical instrument, and the person did not play it for His Glory. And where in the New Testament does it say not to play musical instruments for the glory of the Lord? And do you think God made man so dumb that after telling him to praise God on musical instruments, that he would have to tell man exclusively not to do this in His New Testament? Jesus Christ changed the way things are done. but God has not changed.; Caller - What about the music in Luke 15?; Question from E-mail - I have a question that I have been trying to find out the answer to for months now, in the Bible in Matthew 5:32 Jesus talks about adultery, now if a man and woman is married and she cheats on her husband she has committed adultery, but what if man and woman got married and she cheats on her husband, so her husband to get even cheats on her, then later on they get divorced would either of them have a right to get remarried. In my opinion I don't think neither of them would have a right because they both did wrong and if they want to be married it should be to each other right! My second question is, if husband and wife are married and he mistreats her by hitting her and calling her bad names all the time, would God want her to stay in this marriage? Can you show me in the Bible what your answer is?

E-Mail question from last broadcast - I was listening to your broadcast last week about the role of the woman; you said that a woman could be a judge. Can you give me book, chapter and verse? I was taught that a woman was not to take control over a man, but if the woman is a judge then isn't that taking control over a man? I would like to hear you explain this please? Thank you, and I look forward to receiving your feedback on this matter; Caller - The woman does not have the time to do what she needs to do because she has to work; Titus 2:4; E-Mail Question - Can you trace the church of Christ down though history from the death of Christ?; Caller - Comments on Isaiah 3:12, Man is to be the head of the house; E-Mail Question - If the man will not do his job as a husband; then why wouldn't church support the woman rather then letting the work out side the home? Question called in from last broadcast - Problem in a congregation that wanted a deacon to be put in office that was not qualified - the preacher objected - and the preacher was voted out and the deacon installed; Discussion: Church discipline; Caller - Forgiving a brother or sister when they repent; Caller - Explain righteous judgment; E-mail Question - If the pastor that baptized you was involved in fornication among many woman. He was married also. And if he had in his heart lust for the person he baptized and that person did not know of his lust and his sexual sins. Is that person baptized excepted in God's sight? Does that person need to be baptized again? If that person was aware of his Pastor's sexual problems and still allow him to baptized them is that baptism accepted in God's sight?; E-mail Question - Since you teach that baptism is a essential-commandment to salvation & that according to Acts 2:38 it doesn't mean to literally say aloud over the candidate being baptized the name "Jesus Christ" then what's the difference between your baptism & those of all other denominations? If you say it means (the Name) authority that cant be true can it? Did John baptize in his own authority or God's, so why would those certain disciples that where baptized unto John's baptism need to baptized again in the name of the Lord Jesus and if (which it is!) Jesus is the name above all names and none other name under heaven given whereby mean must be saved & yet if you claim to be the true church why do you even deny his name "Jesus in the title of you denomination)? Also where in God's Word is the teaching of a mourners bench since you state you only teach whats authorized in the word, ie ... like no instrumental music in the church cause supposedly there's no scripture for it, wheres the scripture for a mourners bench?
