Discussion: Social Drinking;
E-Mail Question - Gentlemen, I am a regular listener to your program but have never written or called before. Near the end of your broadcast on Tuesday, I heard one of the speakers make a statement that, I believe, cannot be squared with the Bible or modern scientific medicine. One of the speakers stated that the act of drinking an alcoholic beverage went against God and was "harming your body." To be clear, the speaker did not qualify the statement in any way. He simply condemned all alcoholic beverages. With this in mind, how do you explain the considerable scientific evidence regarding the role of red wine in reducing heart disease? Furthermore, the Gospels themselves speak of Jesus making wine and even drinking it. The New Testament warns against drinking to excess -- being drunk -- but not the consumption of alcohol. This blanket statement, on the part of your speaker, was incorrect and should be addressed. And please do not attempt, as some have done, to fall back on the unsubstantiated claim that Jesus' wine was non-alcoholic. There is, as you often say, "no Bible evidence" to support that view. Respectfully,; Second E-mail from same queriest - Gentlemen, I wrote you last week regarding your blanket denunciation of alcohol and was pleased to hear my topic addressed at length. I was, however, saddened to hear you group me in with those who advocate the consumption of hard liquor and illegal drugs. From there, one of your speakers compared drinking wine to "adultery" and "murder." This devolution into hyperbole, which sometimes unfortunately accompanies your on-air rhetoric, was sad and inappropriate. Just as you should not condemn alcohol of every kind, I would by no means advocate the use of all kinds of alcohol. In truth, I am not writing you as an advocate of alcohol. Rather, I am writing you to advocate logic. I spoke of the known health benefits of one sort of alcoholic beverage. That is all. I did not, in any way, advocate the use of "beer, Jim Beam, or Jack Daniels," as one speaker claimed. Nor did I advocate "social or recreational" drinking. Nor did I advocate drinking to get a "buzz," as another speaker claimed. Rather, I spoke of moderate consumption of wine for medicinal/health reasons which, as your caller correctly stated, the Apostle Paul also advocated. I have honestly never had a "buzz" in my life. Nor has anyone who consumes wine responsibly. I spoke in favor of the health benefits of red wine, and condemned drunkenness just as the Bible condemns drunkenness -- not all alcohol consumption in any form. I find it interesting that, after an hour of denouncing my views, Wesley stated that "there's times when an alcoholic beverage can be used as medicine." This truth is exactly what I spoke of in my original message to you. Yet the alcohol that Wesley admits to having used for medicinal consumption was whiskey -- a beverage with a very high alcoholic content and no Scriptural backing. Scriptures show that Jesus drank wine, not beer or whiskey. I have never taken a drop of the latter two in my life and would never do so. I am aware of no scientific studies that show health/medical benefits to these drinks. Furthermore, the claim that one would have to consume red wine to the point of drunkenness before receiving health benefits is a tenuous one as much that has been written on the subject suggests otherwise. Has it ever occurred to you that Scripture points us to the responsible consumption of wine for our own benefit? Note that I said "responsible." Like many things discussed in Scripture -- sex, for example -- there is a right and wrong use and Scripture spells out both. It seems to me that, with regard to wine consumption, modern medicine is only now learning that which the Bible has long advocated. And regarding the man who asked whether I would "fill up a baby's bottle" with alcohol, shame on him for such a silly, sloppy attack. Wesley, that man is not serious and has no place on a program that, for the most part over the years, has held to serious subject matter. By the way, it seems odd that you insist we must read "the Bible as a whole" and you choose to quote Old Testament passages in order to find "the truth" about wine, yet you don't consider "the Bible as a whole" when you denounce instrumental music -- something specifically authorized and encouraged by Old Testament writings. This is another fixation of yours I have never understood and cannot accept. I will write you no further on this subject, but have done so on this second occasion to correct any misconception about my position. When I wrote you the first time, it was to address a wrong statement you had made to the audience. I have written you now to address a wrong that, I feel, you have done me personally. You didn't argue against my position, but chose instead to spend an hour opposing a "straw man" of your own construction. You employed a list of logical fallacies to numerous to recount. Although I don't expect to receive it, I am deserving of an apology. With continuing respect (although less than before).

E-Mail Questions - Baptismal remission advocates teach that Titus 3:5 does not apply to water baptism because it is a " work of righteousness that God does", not what man does. The meaning of "works" or "deeds" all through the N.T. is "to toil or work" (ergon). Can you please show us from Scripture the toiling that God did on the day that you were baptized? I contend that if water baptism is required upon man to be saved and this involves toiling (the baptizee and the baptizer), that it is indeed a " work of righteousness that we have done"; Man did the work to accomplished the task. John 6:29 cannot be equated to baptism because baptism is a PHYSICAL act while belief is a MENTAL act; Caller - Explain the "will of the of the Father" John 6:29; Caller - What can we do, work or help God?; Caller - Do you (the church of Christ) praise the Lord are you one of the quiet ones?; Caller - Telling about getting saved supernaturally, and there is a supernatural side of God and we can get it; (audio distortion from caller and panel); Caller - Fighting addictions after becoming a Christian.

E-Mail Questions - Hello All, I have a question regarding forgiveness. I heard you speak about this on a recent program. I have no problem with forgiving others. I know that if I want God to forgive me I have to forgive others. I have been told that I must forgive someone even if they do not repent and ask for forgiveness. I know that Bible tell us that God will not forgive us if we do not ask for forgiveness. Are we obligated to forgive someone who does not seek forgiveness? Do we elevate ourselves above God when we say we forgive those who seek no forgiveness? How do I respond when someone tells me this? Like I said I am willing to forgive others. I believe if someone wrongs me that it would be wrong for me to wrong them in return or to treat them badly in any way. I know I must be kind to them. I just want to do what is right. Is there a new movement that teaches that we must forgive even if one does not repent? Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. If they were lost, please show us from the context of scripture found in the letter to the church at Corinth that proves this. If they were saved, please show us the contextual scripture that proves this. They were either saved or lost. Which is it?; Once Saved Always saved?; Caller - Comment on II Thessalonians 3 where it talks about admonishing those who walking disorderly.

Questions From E-Mails: According to the Bible, one sin caused man's fellowship to be broken from God (Genesis 2:17, Romans 5:12-19). To all those who teach that you can be lost after you are saved, including the speakers on this program, I have this question. Why do you refuse to admit that you have been lost every time that you have disobeyed God's commandment as the examples teach that I have shown? Do you teach that it takes more than one sin to break fellowship with God now as opposed to Adam's time? If so, please show us from God's word the specific amount of sin that causes salvation to be lost. Ifyou cannot produce the amount, then you are only" binding heavy burdens and grievous to be born" on men's shoulders. (Matthew 23:4). If you are going to preach and teach that one can be lost after being saved, then you owe it to your listeners the honesty of practicing what you preach. I have yet to meet ANYONE who teaches this doctrine that has the willingness to admit that they have been lost TWICE. Please produce such a person; .

[We apologize for the computer voice recording problem. We trust that it will not interrupt your study of this lesson] E-mail Questions: According to Ro.8:22, the whole creation is groaning and travailing at the present moment because of the curse it is under. Travaileth here means "to sympathize with in expectation of relief from suffering". Are we to conclude from your teaching of salvation that God's plan of"getting to the blood of Christ" uses a cursed material, namely water? In other words, the way that you reach the most holy material, Jesus' blood, is through a CURSED material, created and presently cursed water. Are you really determined to continue to defend this view of salvation; Caller - Looking at Acts 10:15 and it applies to the discussion; E-mail Question - Why do baptismal remission advocates teach that Mark 16: 16 is a commandment when it is a STATEMENT OF FACT? Let's apply the same logic to Matthew l0:39 and 42. Using the same logic that you apply to Mark 16:16 (Jesus spoke it; therefore it is a commandment), you would have to teach that you have to be killed for Christ's sake and give a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple in order to be saved. Are you prepared to take your logic to it's end and start teaching this also?

Answering E-mail question from end of last broadcast - When these Holy Spirit filled preachers were asked a specific question by an individual, was the answer as it is given here the right answer for the individuals (Acts 16:30-31) present and urgent need. Was the information given to this person sufficient to accomplish the task, if not why? Why is the response to a specific question to an individual different than the response to an unspecific question by an group of people in Acts 2:38? Do you contend that this individual was not saved until he was baptized even tho he had already expressed his love for Paul and Silas before baptism?; Is there ever a senerio, when someone telling a lie is not a sin? Answering E-mail questions - Both Ephesians 4 And I Corinthians 12 teach about the body and baptism, do you agree with scripture in these two passages that the one baptism of Ephesians 4 is the spiritual baptism of I Corinthians 12? If not, please show us from the context of these scriptures that this is a water baptism and not a spiritual baptism; Could the preacher's on this program explain to the listener's why the church of Christ has two plans of salvation, one for being saved the first time that includes water baptism for the remission of sins and one other for a member of the church of Christ who has become lost the second time that does not include water baptism for the remission of sins. It would seem to me that the conditions are the same in both instances: 1. They are an alien sinner, 2. They have past sins that need to be remitted. Please explain why the sinner in the second instance is not a sinner to the point of needing their sins remitted by water baptism and why the first sinner is more lost that the second sinner; When these Holy Spirit filled preachers were asked a specific question by an individual, was the answer as it is given here the right answer for the individuals (Acts 16:30-31) present and urgent need. Was the information given to this person sufficient to accomplish the task, if not why? He is responsible for founding the college name which, I assume is still primarily a "church of Christ" college as well as as the periodical "The Gospel Advocate." Are the speakers on this program ready to go record to say that David Lipscomb is in hell today as a result of not subscribing to the "McGarveyite doctrine" (you have to understand at the moment of immersion that your sins are being remitted)?; Questions submitted to Dewey Williams, a Baptist preacher; Can someone explain the rapture of the church? Answering an e-mail questions - The church of Christ has accused Jesus Christ of committing sin when He was a child, please show us from the scriptures dealing with Jesus as a child (Luke 2:39-52) committing even ONE SIN; Question concerning the thief on the cross and his salvation, which church of Christ preachers are right - if we say we don't know are we saying that the Scriptures are incomplete - if we say that the thief on the cross was saved under the law, are we saying that God has different ways of saving different people - if he was baptized before does that not put baptism before belief, repentance, confession?;
Answering an e-mail stating the church of Christ was started by Alexander Campbell; Questions asked on website by Dale Miller -
If a "Church of Christ" elder refuses to baptize me, will I be lost until I can find one who will? Do I need Jesus AND a Cambellite "preacher" in order to be saved? If I do, then Jesus Christ is not the only Mediator and the Holy Spirit is not the only Administrator of salvation - the "Church of Christ" preacher is necessary to salvation for he is performing a saving act on me when he baptizes me! Is this not blasphemy against Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost?

Answering an e-mail stating the church of Christ was started by Alexander Campbell; Questions asked on website by Dale Miller -
1. If as a Christian I can sin so as to "lose my salvation," just what sin or sins will place me in such danger? Is it possible to know at what point one has committed such a sin, and become lost again? Please be specific and give clear Bible references.
2. If as a Christian I can fall and "lose my salvation," is it possible to regain it? If so, how? If God "takes away" my salvation, doesn't that make Him an "Indian giver"? How could I ever know for sure that I was saved or lost?
3. After becoming a Christian, are there any sins that will put me beyond the "point of no return" so that I cannot regain salvation? What sin or sins will put me in such jeopardy, so that, after becoming a Christian, I would be doomed to hell without any recourse? Please be specific and give me clear Bible references.
4. If I committed some sin - whether in thought, word, or deed, one minute before a fatal car crash - would I go to hell if I did not have time to repent of it? And, please, don't just say that it's up to God without giving me a specific Bible reference.

E-Mail Question - George Tiller murdered 60,000 human babies by the partial-birth-abortion procedure(suck it's brains out with only it's head not being born). Please tell us what the Bible says should have happened to this murderer. He was a member of the Lutheran church; E-Mail Question - Hello, I have a Bible question that i really would like the answer to. I understand what the Bible says about the husband and wife. I understand that he makes the decisions and sometimes I disagree with them. When it comes to the husband and wife, I understand all of this, but what I was wondering is this. My husband left me about 2 months ago because he said he wants me to be back like I was before, (like I was before I got my heart right with the Lord). I'm a born again Christian and I don't do the things I use to do. I have no joy in them. So he left me over it. We still talk all the time, and every day or so he will come to visit me. But about 2 weeks ago I had been taking care of my granddaughter. She is 5 years old. She has been mentally and physically abused my her mom and dad. So I had agreed to take her because it is wrong for anyone to mistreat a child, for any reason. I love children with all my heart. Well my husband came to my house and this is what he said. He had told me to make a choice between him and Alyssa. He is highly over jealous this little girl. He told me that he would not come back at all; that he would get on with his life if i was planning on keeping my granddaughter permanently. Well to tell you the truth, I know why he says this. Not only is he jealous but its her color because she is haft black; and to me I don't care if she was green. But he does not like black people. I don't no what to do about this. Please help me if you can. Thank you very much.

E-Mail Question - Hi I wanted to say I listen to your program ever chance I get, whether if I'm in the car driving down the road or at home. I have a few Bible questions. I would like you to answer when you get time, and it is, in John 10:-27,28 and 29 where it says.. "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand....." When it says neither shall any man pluck the out of my hand?? what does this mean..? Does God hear the cry of his own people?? like when you cry out to God because some people and very cruel and evil toward that person, and that person cry's out to God, does god hear them.?? E-Mail Question - Dear arise to truth, and to the attention of Wesley Simons, Dear Wesley Simons, I would like to take issue with a statement you made on last Tuesdays program. You stated that "we've never ask for a dime on this program". However, that's just not true. I seem to recall that in Sept 1997 After a Gospel meeting at the East Bristol Church of Christ you stated that if listeners wanted a copy of the tapes there would be a $5 charge for the tapes. You claimed that this was for the duplication of the Tapes, but why wouldn't the Churches of Christ support that work through their Ties, and offerings? Secondly who got the money out of the tape sales, the Stoney Creek Church of Christ, or the East Bristol Church of Christ? I think you need to correct this statement on the air. Oh also tell me something where is your Bible authority for raising money for the duplication of any tapes offered through the Church of Christ? If your any kind of Christian you would explain this on the air. If your a Christian you would! Love ... your sister in the faith. E-Mail Question - Hello All, I found this article on the decriminalization of homosexuality. I thought you might want to comment on this. I find it very disturbing. I can't help but think that this declaration will be used try to stop gospel preachers and Christians from speaking against the sin of homosexuality. What is your take on this? Do you think with the Islamic country's opposing this declaration that this just gives them another reason to hate the United States? I look forward to your comments. Reminding to call Rick Boucher; Speaking where the Bible speaks; E-Mail Question - Hi, Just wanted to say that I love the Arise To Truth Program. I've listened off and on for years and as for my question; how can people believe in a rapture? As I understand, the word rapture is not in the Bible. Where do they get the belief? Would not Christ have to come back two more times for this to be true? Thanks?; Talking about different passages that deal with the Kingdom and the Second Coming; E-Mail Question - I have this friend who is having some marital problems and he has come to me for some advice on the matter. I am not married and therefore consider myself unqualified to give any kind of advice short of what I give him to read out of the Bible. He brought up a point that I have trouble answering for him and he seems determined that this is right in his own understanding of it. His argument is simply that Christ himself said that he who looks upon a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her in his heart already (even though nothing comes out of it, besides the impure thoughts). And I am afraid that he may use this to do something rash. I have begged him to not do anything until I can get him an answer, and I have also begged him to go with his wife and talk to someone more authoritative on the subject. I don't know how to answer him on his misapplication of this verse. If you could help I would really appreciate it, and I have prayed on the matter. I am friends with both parties and love both of them( I feel it is important to note that they are both members of the Church). I am trying to get them help from others here, but I thought that I would try you all too because you have always always always given sound Biblical doctrine. Thank you for your time and please get to this at your earliest convenience. I really appreciate the work that you all do.

E-Mail Question - Hello, I have a question for you to answer when ever you get time... Let me tell you my whole story, it will probably be to long to read on your program but I would really like you to email me back please. Does God really love me? How can he love someone like me? It doesn't seem like He loves me. I'm not perfect but I did at one time try so hard to be for the Lord. A lot of things went on in my life, a lot of heart breaks, when I try so hard to live right and people just keep breaking my heart, that hurt turned in to anger. I said a lot of things to these people that I shouldn't have said. I knew it was wrong but even though I didn't want to. I told them I was sorry and to please forgive me; so I prayed to God, and asked Him to forgive me. I just so bad hurt and with these people treating me so bad. I can't just leave them alone because they are my family and I love them so very very much. I don't know what to do. It feels like little by little satan is taking over. I've thought about suicide. I've thought about just getting even with them, but I know in my heart all of this is so wrong. I keep praying but I still feel the same inside. They have called me really bad names and have told lies about me to other people. They have been so very very cruel to me. They have took the love I feel for them and just used it to get what they want. They laugh at me and make fun of me and I tried so hard to live right and when I slipped up and said some things to them that I shouldn't have. They said to me I THOUGHT YOU WERE TRYING TO LIVE RIGHT; GO READ YOUR BIBLE SOME MORE, and that hurt me so bad because I tried so very very hard. It feels like I turned on God and He doesn't love me anymore. I just don't know what to do. They say names can't hurt you, but that's not right I have been called everything. Names can hurt people and its very cruel. Please email me asap. Thank you so much for your time.

Someone i know says that when your saved and baptized, that your life changes and I do agree with that, but they also told me that your not suppose to get mad at things that happen. Like if someone was calling you filthy names over and over, and you say to that person, please don't call me names or say bad things about me, and the the person calling the names, goes out and tells lies about you to other people. My Mother says: "That your going to hell if you don't accept your family members even though you know their wrong", at the same time she is not willing to accept any one else who lives in sin. However, she claims to be a Christian, (She goes to church when she fills like it, and speaks in tongues, at the same time as she's walks out of the church she doesn't mind one bit cussing. She says: "It's Okay for me to cuss, but not anyone else.", or it's okay for me to call some body's children drunks, but you can't condemn me." She says: "Judge not less you be judged." Abortion information; E-Mail - Michael, I'm wondering if you could give me (Book, chapter, and verse) for your plan of salvation? One preacher reads a verse, and interprets it one way, and another preacher reading the same verse interprets it another way. Why? For example, One preacher reads John 3:3/5 one preacher says that its plainly talking about water, but another preacher says this water is figurative speech. Now, which is it? Another example, one preacher reads in act 20:7 they come together and broke bread, one saying this is referring to the Lord's supper, while the other says no the bread is figurative for the Word of God. Again which one is right? Can you help me please? Good day, and God bless you! E-Mail Question - Wesley, Just wanted to say, how I've noticed that you've not changed your beliefs since 1985. Just wanted you to know I like that! When were you saved? What error did you come out of? Can you please explain? I've never heard your first broadcast, but like the ones I've heard! Thanks for standing for the truth through all these years! God bless you, and good day!; E-Mail - Wesley, You said on Jan 6 we can't give up on truth, but who's truth? Your truth, my truth, who's truth? For example one preacher said if you spoke against speaking in "unknown tongues" then you have already blasphemed the Holy Spirit. Then another preacher says that "if you don't speak "in tongues" "you will go to hell no matter how you've lived. Therefore, as long as you speak "in tongues" then it doesn't matter how you live your still saved anyway." Yet, nun other them can give scripture for what they teach. So its according to who's truth, your truth, my truth, or the Baptist truth. One things for sure we all may be wrong, but we all can't be right!; Caller - In 1827 the American Bible Society changed the King James Version Bible and I was curious which one you used? E-Mail Question - Dear Arise2truth, I'm wondering if you could touch on a subject of the (Rich man). A preacher said last Sunday: "Anyone who was (rich) was going to (hell)." First I want to know how money would you haft to have to be (rich) in the sight of God? Maybe $5, $10, or what? This preacher would never say. Are we not to be responsible with our money? The preachers say: "just give it all away, and God will supply your needs." If that were the case though then why does the majority of people who call their selves poor not have a job? The truth is the majority of those who are poor, are poor by choice. Secondly, doesn't the Bible say: "If any man will not work, he should not eat" However, today It's he who will not work should draw a check from the Government. Can you please deal with this, a little bit please? Am I wrong? Your sister in the faith.

Looking at E-Mail questions - Hello All, Please read Genesis 4:26. Does this verse mean that men did not call upon the name of the Lord before the birth of Enos, Seth's son? Cain and Abel made offerings to God in Chapter 3 of Genesis. I know there are no contradictions in the Bible. Can you explain the meaning of this verse? Thanks; Another E-Mail - I'm attempting to send you a copy of a letter that appeared in the Bristol Herald Courier this morning. I found this on the web site. I'm not to savvy when it comes to anything more than a simple e-mail. Thanks for the stand you are taking in this very important matter. By Letters To The Editor Published: January 29, 2009 A recent article published on Jan. 23 reported on the concerns of health care workers about pending legislation on the abortion issue. Their concern was two fold - that if the bill HR 1964, also known as the Freedom of Choice Act, was passed it would infringe upon their belief against performing abortions and also that federal funds would be cut off if they refused to perform abortions. Present at the meeting was Bill Haywood, chairman of the organization, Fighting for Life in the 9th. The purpose of this grass-roots organization is to put pressure upon Representative Rick Boucher, who is a co-sponsor of the bill, to drop his sponsorship of this damaging bill and to vote no against such bill if it comes to a vote. If the Freedom of Choice Act becomes law it will undo much of the pro-life legislation that has saved thousands of babies who would have been aborted. Another point of issue is that President Obama pledged before the election that he would sign the FOC act. He also could issue an order that would legalize the FOC without going through Congress. This would be disastrous to the right-to-life movement. As concerned citizens we need to let Mr. Boucher and others know of our opposition to this bill. Damascus, Va. Reader Reactions Posted by ... on January 29, 2009 at 1:22 am There is no such thing as as a pro-abortion person. This is one of the myths - one of the lies - deliberately created in order to mislead Americans. There are the pro-choice ideologies and the anti-choice ideologies. There are people who support women's right to choose. And there are others who are against the right. The American Taliban want to force everybody to live by their made-up rules. But the majority of Americans already know what to do with Taliban like people. With Gestapo like people. With catholic hypocritical fanatics. They already know what it takes to be free from wannabe dictators. Report Inappropriate Comment Posted by ... on January 29, 2009 at 12:54 am Catholic fanatics are behind the latest efforts to control women and take away their right to choose whether or not they require a medical procedure. If phony fundamentalists are so interested in the welfare of children, why are there any children in foster care? Looking at E-Mail questions - Wesley, I would like for you to deal with these statements. "It should be Okay to have an abortion if the guy was a black" or in the case of rape" or the so/called health of the mother." I want to say my self about the last one, it seems like it would be more harmful to the mother to have an abortion, then it would to ever have the baby. At any rate is it not, still murder, and if so is it not still wrong? Could you explain please? Love ... I'll be listening for your response! Good day, and God bless you, and the work your doing; E-Mail from California - Michael, I would like to ask you a question please! A preacher said last week that God hated this Country, because we went in to Iraq, therefore to defend your Country, or your home is not being very loving. Where is this found in the Bible? The preacher brings up Matthew 5 where it says blessed are the piece makers, but were we not attacked first? The preacher went on to say that this passage means that we should never defend our self, or our Country. They go on to say vengeance is the Lord's. Therefore if we try to defend our own home, or Country from those who would harm us that we are "trouble makers", and therefore we sin in doing so! However, didn't God tell His people to take the land, and kill the women, and children? I'm not sure anymore! I'm so confused! Didn't David fight the giant? However, the preacher says we must make piece at any cost, and we should care less about truth, and more about just getting along. However, I can't find that in the Word of God. Can you help me? Please! Love the website! I listen online because I live in Paradise City California so I'm unable to pick you up out here. God Bless you, and Good day! E-Mail from South Carolina - If so will you E/mail me the answer please? I listen online while I'm down hear in SC. I hope to be coming back to the Tri-Cities in July, but until then I'll just be able to listen online! Love the website! Also is it a sin to defend your Country, and how does it tie in to Matthew 5 which says: For blessed are the piece makers: most preachers say that the war that we're fighting in is a sin. Many of these preachers say we have no right to defend our Country. They go on to say that those since we started this war, that shows that we're little spoilt brats, because we would defend our Country? Does the Bible teach this? I can't seem to find it! Can you help me please? Although these preachers say its a sin to defend your Country, and your home. However, didn't David fight the giant? Wasn't that ok? Do we not read somewhere in the Bible that Simmon was told to take an army, and fight? I'm not sure where that's at, but I know it's in there somewhere! Also through the old testament they were told to take the land, and kill the women, and children, right? If you know please let me know, and how does those verses apply today? Does God permit war? Or does He view those who defend their Country as "trouble makers"? Many of these preachers say that it is a sin to defend your Country, or your home, "your just to make piece with them at any cost even if it means going against what the Bible plainly teaches"! I'm young in the faith, so I'm sorry I don't know any better, but I'm trying to learn! Can you do a broadcast on just this topic one day please? Or do you have anymore broadcast dealing with this subject on your website? I don't seem to find them if you do! Please let me know! Love ... your sister in the faith! Good day, and God bless you! I also have a question presented to me that I really don't know how to answer, and was wondering if you all could help me out. If everyone knows where they are going after they die, why would there be a Judgment? The party who presented this question to me is someone of status in my congregation, and informed me that he does not preach on the matter of what awaits the soul directly after death because He does not understand it. However, I have heard him preach on multiple occasions that the soul sleeps at the point of death. I do not remember what scripture he used for it, and I took notes, but I can't find them. Thank you and God bless. Continuing thoughts on judgment; E-Mail - Wesley, Hear is the link to the Tennessee Church of Christ, I hope you can get to it. I have been there just this morning; E-Mail Question - Wesley, Can you answer a question for me please? Is it a sin to condemn speaking in (unknown tongues), people say you speak directly to God in a language that only God understands. However, if that is the case are we saying that Satan is so dumb that he doesn't know what's said. Where is that found at in the Bible? Some people say that if you don't speak in tongues it shows your not saved. Can you help me there? God Bless you, and good day.

E-Mail Discussion: I have a bunch of questions I would like for you to deal with please. First I'm not a Christian, but I really don't want to be, as the result of most of the things I see in the church. After all I've seen, which I've written below, then you should see why I don't want to be a Christian. Why should I want to be a Christian, when all Christians today are Mansie pansie, and whishie whoshie on everything from abortion, to whether there's 1 in the Godhead, or 3 in the Godhead. From whether you should just overlook sin in/order to make peace, to 1 church is as good as another. From whether you should take the Lord's supper once a week, or once a year, or not even at all, to what kind of music does God accept in worship. From you can just live anyway you want to live, to whether you must be baptized in/order to be saved. Most churches just want to make piece at any cost, even at the sacrificing of truth. It's not what does the Bible say, rather its all about just living at peace with one another, putting aside truth, and throwing the Bible out the window. Peace is more important then the truth any day. Why should I want to be a Christian?; Caller - In Acts 7:58 wanting to make sure this was the actual clothes or garments; Back to the e-mail; Caller - Does not understand foot-washing, Explain the unleaven bread; Back to the e-mail - When Christians will not stand for anything, but will fall for everything coming, and going. If one condemns sin in another's life, that one is looked down on as being "unkind", "unloving", "a trouble maker", "ungentle" ", "hardheaded", and "mean spirited." These people say if you condemn sin such as, abortion, homosexuality, drunkardness, and so/on, and so/forth. your being "unkind", "A trouble maker", "ungentle", and "jealous". These same people say when you condemn such sin then it shows that you have not got the fruits of the spirit, for if you did you wouldn't condemn sin at all, you would leave the condemning of sin up to God, and you would just love them, and make peace with them at any cost, they say just mind your own business, instead of trying to correct other people, for it's nun of your biasness how someone else lives.

E-Mail Discussion: I have a bunch of questions I would like for you to deal with please. First I'm not a Christian, but I really don't want to be, as the result of most of the things I see in the church. After all I've seen, which I've written it below, then you should see why I don't want to be a Christian. Most churches just want to make peace at any cost, even at the sacrificing of truth. It's not what does the Bible say, rather its all about just living at peace with one another, putting aside truth, and throwing the Bible out the window. Peace is more important then the truth any day. Why should I want to be a Christian? When Christians will not stand for anything, but will fall for everything coming, and going. At the same time the ones saying this throw up Matthew 7 verse 1. However, are they them selves not guilty of doing the same thing, as their accusing us of doing? Some how these people think that it's okay to judge us, but we can not do that to them. If you try to correct one who is wrong then they blowup at you. Now friend I ask you, is that being very loving, kind, gentle, or accepting of another's belief system? I don't think so! When you stand up for what you believe in, you will be looked at as being "unChristian", when the opposite is really true. So after all of this, Why should I want to be a Christian? After all you can't even agree on the plan of salvation, now can you! Of course not! Can you deal with this please?! Should I be saved, and if so how, or do you even know how to be saved to begin with? Will you read this whole e/mail on the air, so other churches can see the damage their doing to there selves, and the Gospel's sake? Although its a long e/mail I think it needs to be dealt with; Caller - Is God a respecter of person in light of the thief on the cross; Caller - Comments on the respecter of person and the thief on the cross; Caller - What about people in foreign countries that never hear the gospel how does God judge them?; Caller - When Jesus' side was pierced and blood and water came forth was that a form of baptism? Caller - Can a man get baptized after he is saved?; Caller - Comments on the e-mail why there is so much confusion.
