E-Mail Question - It is unfortunate that you did not give a straight forward answer to the question posed on the program Tuesday. Was Cornelius a child of the devil or as child of the devil immediately prior to being baptized in water? In your argument against him being saved before water baptism, you kept referring to the Holy Ghost falling upon him. You ended with this and never referenced Cornelius magnifiying God and speaking in tongues (verse 46). The context here has Cornelius receiving the Holy Ghost before being water baptized (verse 47). You failed to mention any of these important points in your explanation of Acts 10. The word "receive" here has the idea of possession or taking to oneself and is vastly more compelling then the Holy Spirit merely falling on them as your argument ends with. When we look at the context of scripture here it is undeniable that this was a saved man before being baptized in water. If Cornelius was not saved until he was submerged in water, then we are being asked by Welsey to accept the man thast, (1) Possessed the Holy Ghost, (2) Magnified God (a condition that orginates in a changed heart), and (3) Spake with tongues (only saved people did this in the New Testament), was still a child of God of the devil. Why? Because he had not been baptized in water. I'll say it for you Wesley, Wesley Simons concludes that Cornelius was a child of the devil immediately prior to being baptized in water. The context of scripture does not agree with Wesley. Once again I'll ask the question, "Will you, Wesley Simons, make the clear statement that the second before Cornelius' body broke the surface of the water during baptism he was indeed a child of the devil?
Caller - Asking a question about Elijah was one of the meanet men in the Old Testament per Andrew Womack.

Host: Wesley Simons - Elizabethton, TN
Panel: Adam Horn - Lenanon, VA; Tim Phillips - Dean Of Instructors at TCSOP & CD

E-Mail Question - Wesley, The deception never ends! I can't believe your "play dumb" response to the caller who asked you to read 1st John 4:4 on Tuesdays (4/5/11) Program! The "he that is in you" part of that verse is talking about the Holy Ghost; you full well know that Wesley! Let's hear you read Romans 8:11; that verse even more strongly says that we are indwelt by the Holy Ghost. Romans 8:9 & 10 are also talking about the Holy Ghost. Don't use the argument that God and Christ are also mentioned as "being in" a Saved person; I know that too Wesley, but the Scriptures I have listed here, and others which I have sent you in previous e-mails makes it clear that it is the Holy Ghost, the Third Person of the Trinity, who Indwells ALL Saved people. Ephesians 1:13-14, and other verses which conclusively prove that every Saved person is permanently Indwelt by the Holy Ghost destroys your teaching that Saved people can lose their Salvation. That's why you dispute what they are really saying;

When you read a sentence or two and interrupt you interrupt the thought. It is almost like interrupting a debator in a debate and therefore the train of throught is lost.
E-Mail - Was Cornelius immediately before he was baptized a child of the devil or a child of God?
Caller - You have not answered the e-mailer's question "Was Cornelius a child of the devil before conversion"?
Caller - Explain why you could not have pastor before a persons name like in Ephesians; Do you believe that what Jesus said in the Bible is the inspired Word of God
Caller - Since Mark 16:16 says he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved, then the believers in verse 18 must refer back to the believers in verse 16?

E-Mail Question - Wesley, Thanks for returning my call Sunday. The meeting with the preacher went very well. When we gotr to the "sinner's prayer" he used a verse I haven't heard used to promote the "sin ner's prayer". September 19, 2013

Host: Bill Haywood - Abingdon, VA
Panel: Tim Phillips - Dean Of Instructors at the TCSOP; Tony Hoss - Elizabethton, TN

E-Mail Question - I keep hearing the speakers on this program make the cahgrge that there are other preachers preaching faith only for salvation. Am I correct to assume that there are preachers that would respond to the question, "What must I do to be saved" with the answer "Have faith and you'll be saved"? I would like to know who these preachers are because no one can be saved by faith alone. Can I assume then that there are preachers in the area that are saying in response to the question, "What must I do to be saved" have faith and you will be saved? Can the speakers on this program give us local preachers who are preaching this message (have faith in order to be saved) so we can talk with them and show them their error? If you mean by faith alone, in grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone then you need to be specific and change your strawman wording. There is a specific example of the question, "What must I do to be saved?" found in the Bible and the answer is plain to the point, "Believe on the Lord Jesuus Christ and thou shalt be saved", Acts 16:30-31. I do hear alot of preachers preaching this message in our area and we all including Paul stand guilty pf preaching faith alone. If what you mean by faith alone is belief in Christ only for salvation, this is the message presented in the New Testament to lost Gentiles. Abd I am glad to report that if a lost person asked me the question that was asked of Paul about what one must do to be saved, my answer along with the majority of the preachers in this area would be exactly the same "believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved".

September 05, 2013

Host: Wesley Simons - Elizabethton, TN
Panel: Tim Phillips - Dean Of Instructors at the TCSOP & CD; Bill Haywood - Abingdon, VA; Tony Hoss - Elizabethton, TN

E-Mail Question - Mr. Phillips said on a recent program that the Word of God hand-cuffs you. I don't think I;ve heard a Christian make that statement. It struck me as odd and I immedaitely thought of the word "bondage" which is a term of equality. And the Scripture in Galatians 2:4 - "that they might bring us into bondage." When I hear people making statements like this in light of Jesus' own words "and the truth shall amke you free" I can't help but wonder, if Mr. Phillips words have betrayed a destire on his part to cause God's Word to hand-cuff people. Only he can tell us why he chose to amke a statement since it is foreign to the Bible. The truth always makes on free. It cannot free and hand-cuff at the same time. This is a contradiction in terminaology and plain ole common sense. The only people I have ever read in the Bible that sought to use God's Word to bring people into bondage where the Pharisee's of Jesus' day and the Judaizer's of Paul's day. Their motive is clearly spelled out in Galatians, "who came in prively to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus that they might bring us into bondage" Galatians 2:4. I know there are people like this in the church today as there was then. It is my prayer that Mr. Phillips and the speakers on this program are not seeking to entrap, spireitually ambush or bring into legalistic bondage God's people like the Judaizers did many years ago. Legalism in the church is as dangerous and I believe more prevalent than any nominaism is. Is it the goal of the speakers on this program to bind or set free? It cannot be both. Please, clearify your statement Mr. Phillips. Signed

Host: Wesley Simons - Elizabethton, TN
Panel: Tim Phillips - Dean Of Instructors at the TCSOP & CD; Bill Haywood - Abingdon, VA

E-Mail Question - The Catholic Church believe that they are the one true church so does the Church of Christ. Wouldn't it be great if they would have a debate?;
A quick noite of commendation to Tim for; 1.) Not appearing to be as combative be over emphasizing words by duration and tone of voice. This makes him a more respectable apologist and 2.) For reaching the same conclusion in Acts 10 that the Scripture reaches that Peter commanded them to be baptized and did not command them to be baptized in order to contact the blood of Christ or receive remission of sins.
E-Mail Question in Consideration - Well Wesley, After about two years of hearing your false teaching on the radio I am through listening to it. Over the past time period I have discovered several false doctrines which you vehemently defend as God's Truth. Some of those false teachings are listed below for the benefit of your listening audience. 1) You deny "Faith Alone" for Salvation, even though you say you do believe in "Faith Alone". You just simply refuse to take Ephesians 2:8-9 literally and within context. You try, in essence, to use other Scripture to "prove" Ephesians 2:8-9 is wrong. 2) You deny "Once Saved, Always Saved". John 10:27-30 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one. Key words:"I give", NOT "I will give", & "My Father which GAVE them me..."; NOT "which shall give them me". What about 1 John 5:11-13 And this is the record, that, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; , and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. Notice specifically: "God hath given to us eternal life", PAST TENSE, And "that ye may know that ye have eternal life" PAST TENSE. We have Eternal Life immediately at Salvation. 3) You deny that we are all born Sinners when you teach that new born babies are not sinners. Psalm 51:5, Psalm 58:3, Isaiah 48:8, & Romans 5:12. By the way, where is your "Book, Chapter, & Verse" proof texts that all people are born innocent????? 4) You deny that eternal life begins at the moment a person is Saved. Acts 13:48, & John 5:24 ("hath" is past tense, meaning it has already happened the moment a person is Saved; also "...is passed from death unto life." means it has already happened.) 5) You deny that the Holy Ghost permanently Indwells every believer from the moment of Salvation. This is truly the one Baptism referred to in Ephesians 4:5. You gloss over this by saying that God and Christ are also referred to as "being in us", however, the Bible specifically referes to the Holy Spirit as the person of the Trinity who actually Indwells every believer. Your claim that John 14, 15, & 16 is only referring to the Apostles being Indwelt by the Holy Spirit is totally wrong; other verses, such as 1st Corinthians 12:13, Romans 8:9-11 taken in proper, logical context, et al make it perfectly clear that ALL believers are permanently Indwelt by the Holy Spirit. Hebrews 2:3-4 make it perfectly clear that the signs and wonders given by the Holy Spirit was truly for the Apostles only, but as Scripture validates, the Baptism ("one Baptism") of the Holy Spirit is performed upon every believer at the moment of Salvation. We are not "commanded" to be Baptised by the Holy Spirit because, as Scripture teaches, the Baptism is performed instantly at Salvation. 6) You deny that there is a literal 1000 year reign of Jesus Christ here on Earth after His Second Coming. Revelation Chapter 20 proves you WRONG Wesley. 7) You deny that churches should have "Pastors", yet Ephesians 4:11 clearly mentions "pastors". 8) You falsely teach that "communion" should be taken every Sunday. First Corinthians 11:24-25 clearly does not specify a timetable. 9) You teach a "works based Salvation" which is totally contrary to the Bible. You take all the verses you use to support "works to keep your Salvation" totally out of the context within which they are found, as well as out of context with what the Bible has to say collectively regarding Salvation. WORKS ARE EVIDENCE TO THE WORLD THAT WE ARE SAVED, NOT TO PROVE TO GOD THAT WE ARE WORTHY OF HIS FORGIVENESS, Ephesians 2:10 "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.". Our good works are part of our desire to be found well pleasing unto God, not to earn our Salvation. We continue to sin against God, and that's why God commands us to confess and repent when we do sin against Him, 1st John 1:9. I'm sure you will find a way to twist this letter around just like you do all the others. "...let God be true, but every man a liar;..", Romans 3:4. Sincerely in Christ.

E-Mail Question - Wesley, Your statement about the blood of Christ on your Tuesday 5 June 2012 program is just one more facet of your false teaching. You falsely said that the blood of Christ was just like anyone else's blood. Check out this attached website. It explains Christ's blood and how it differs from the blood of mankind. http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/BTP/Dr_MR_DeHaan/Chemistry/04.htm You also quickly slipped in a comment to the effect that everyone was born innocent. This is totally false Wesley. Adam and Eve were the only two innocent people who ever lived, Christ excepted. Adam and Eve's sin introduced sin to all mankind beginning at birth. Romans 5:12-21 makes this point quite clear. Sincerely im Christ,

E-Mail Question - Was David Saved?
Caller - Explain getting "The gift of th e Holy Spirit";
E-Mail Question - OK, let me and the Word of God address some of the Scriptures you use; Mark 16:16 - The Scripture is not saying that water baptism is an absolute for salvation. Of course he that believeth should be baptized, no doubt about that. In the verse the writer is taking for granted that the saved person will be baptized. The end of the verse the consequence of being unbaptized is damnation.
Caller - What about the thief on the cross; there was not water around?
Back To E-mail - John 3:5, this verse must be read in context with Jesus' conversation with Nicodemus. It is a tongue-in-cheek quote that goes with Jesus' question in John 3:10 "art thou a Master in Israel?" and "knowest not these things?" Jesus is telling Nicodemus this is nothing new. It is a doctrine he should already know because of his study of Old Testament books.

Call In Question - How do we honor an ungodly government?
E-Mail Question - Dear Wesley, From the Girls youth Lakelyn Florida. Think you for adding the streem back. Just a few comments about some of the past programs we've been listening to. 1st The issue of the "one cup". It needs to be noted that the focus should be on the contents of what's in the cup not how many cups. Jesus commanded us to take the Lord's supper every Lord's day. He also told us with what to take it with. However, he didn't tell us how many cups or what color, or that size of the bread. If you fill condemned by not drinking from the same cup then don't do it. However, it does not negate the fact we need to take the Lord's supper every Lord's day as commanded by our Lord. 2nd The emailer that was asking you about the streem of GBN not working you should consider using a different Innternet browser. we have problems with IE9, and IE10, but the stream is working fine in firefox. It may be noted that Google is going to stop supporting the IE9 and IE10 browsers soon. Signed Director of girls youth! Blessings!
E-Mail Question from last week - I'd like to know what you believe and also here is an article I want you to ponder. When did the church start? Eleven reasons why Jesus' church was in existence prior to the day of Pentecost. Some scriptural reasons why the church was not established on the day of Pentecost but rather began with the first family in Genesis. Reason 1 - it had a rule of discipline before Pentecost Matthew 18:17; Reason 2 - We read that Jesus sang in the church Hebrews 12, the only time Jesus ever sang as we have record of it was at the institution of it, Mark 14:26, this was before Pentecost; Reason 3 - they had a business meeting before the day of Pentecost and elected a successor to take the place of Judas, Acts 1:15-26; Reason 4 - the apostles was in the church before the day of Pentecost, 1 Corinthians 12:28 the first ones to be put in the church were the apostles and this was at least three years before the day of Pentecost; Reason 5 - the church had it's commission to preach before the day of Pentecost, Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Reason 6 - the church had it's authority to baptize before Pentecost, John 4:2; Reason 7 - the church had the Lord's Supper before Pentecost, Matthew 28:30; Reason 8 - the keys of the kingdom was given to it before Pentecost, Matthew 16:19; Reason 9 - it had a church role before Pentecost with names on the role, Acts 1:15; Reason 10 - to this church there were about three thousand added on the day of Pentecost, if I were to tell you that I was going to add $200.00 to my bank account this would imply that I already have a bank account to begn with. In view that about three thousand souls were added to the church on the day of Pentecost, then were are led to believe to believe that the church was in existence before Pentecost, Acts 2:42; Reason 11 - and perhaps the strongest eveidence of all, that the church didn't begin on Pentecost is found in Acts 7:37-38 where we read of the church in the wilderness in the Old Testament. Let any other man who believes that the church was founded on the day of Pentecost answer these eleven reasons and until an answer is forthcoming except the Word of God and not the words of men. Certainly the debate of when the church was started is not a fundemental doctrine of the Christian faith. Many good men such as Oliver B. Green, M.R. Dehon believe that the church started on the day of Pentecost, I disagree. I personally agree with Pastor Jack House that the church begain back in Genesis with the first Christian family. The local church today is a surrogate family. In the Old Testament the oldest in the family was the spiritual who provided guidance for the rest of the family. Due to urbanization and the migration of the family churches became a necessity to provide a surrogate family. However the church has been around for thousands of years going back at least four thousands to the church at in the wilderness. The church could not have begun on the day of Pentecost.

Let's hear you read Romans 8:11; that verse even more strongly says that we are indwelt by the Holy Ghost. Romans 8:9 & 10 are also talking about the Holy Ghost. Don't use the argument that God and Christ are also mentioned as "being in" a Saved person; I know that too Wesley, but the Scriptures I have listed here, and others which I have sent you in previous e-mails makes it clear that it is the Holy Ghost, the Third Person of the Trinity, who Indwells ALL Saved people. Ephesians 1:13-14, and other verses which conclusively prove that every Saved person is permanently Indwelt by the Holy Ghost destroys your teaching that Saved people can lose their Salvation. That's why you dispute what they are really saying;

Question - Explain what "not given to much wine" in the New Testament means?
E-Mail Question - I'd like to know what you believe and also here is an article I want you to ponder.

E-Mail Question - Quite frequently Members of CoC point out divisions among other groups of Christians. My question is; why are some church of Christ one cuppers, while other church of Christ are plural cuppers ? Why are some church of Christ bread punchers, while other church of Christ are bread breakers? Why are some church of Christ Sunday schoolers, yet some church of Christ are non Sunday schoolers?? You may want to consider what this Brother that advocates One Cup has to say. You may have to debate Him in the future. I would like for you to tell us where He is wrong in His reasoning. His argument Sounds Biblically and logically more compelling than your view. Just some observations I made while watching this debate. Mr. Pendergrass seemed loud, obnoxious, and definetly disrespectful of His elder Preacher Brother during His rebuttel. If you would be honest, Wesley, you would agree that He reminds you of Tim Phillips, as all His words seem to be in capitol letters all the time. They even say" Word uh God " in the same tone of voice. There was absolutely no need to treat His Brother the same way He would treat a "denominational opponent ". The sanctimony was very telling. Mr. Phillips could learn from Mr. Pendergrass that being loud and arrogant does not win debates; and always does more harm than good.

It seems to be describing the second coming of our Lord. But it in verse 34 that "none of these things shall come to pass until all these things be fulfilled" and an ending point that deals with the destruction of Jerusalem and then it takes up with verse 35 saying "heaven and earth shall pass away but my word shall never pass away" but then in verse 36 it says "but of that day and hour knoweth no man" talking about the second coming. Can you please help me understand these verses, Thank you;

Tuesday's E-Mail Question - I am asking you to confirm or deny the following statement: The group of Christians that you associated yourself with teaches that if you are driving down the road and listening to a Christian song on the radio it's alright to sing along with the song as long as you do not worship the Lord from the heart as you are listening and singing. And if you actually worship the Lord while listening to and singing along with this Christian song, you are committing sin. And that in fact, one should listen to a Christian song the same way one would listen to a Country song to prevent one from unauthorized worship of the Lord.

E-Mail Question - This is an exerpt from a Brother in the group called churches of Christ. His name is Don L. King, publisher of Old Paths Advocate. It illustrates the divisions within the group of Christians called church of Christ. "We are concerned with things we hear about the subject of fellowship. . . . Why do we worship with one-cup? Answer: because we read it plainly in Matthew 26:27: Mark 14:23; Luke 22:17,20; 1 Corinthians 10:16; 11:25-28. Is it wrong, sinful to use more than one? Answer: yes~ because more than one-cup violates the example given in these verses, it violates the command for us to do as Jesus did .... Listen, brethren: we believe it is wrong to use more than one-cup. We believe people are going to be lost for using more than one-cup. Surely, we believe that! If people are not going to be lost for using more than one, then let's give up the fight and heal the division caused by those who have insisted on using more than one .... Individual cups are a sinful violation of the Bible pattern.... What about Bible Classes? Is it right to divide the public assembly into classes for the purpose of teaching and allow women to teach? . . . The pattern is always an undivided assembly with one man at a time doing the teaching." Is this man right or wrong in concluding that only one cup is to be used in the Lord's Supper, and is he right in concluding that classes are to be taught only by one person, and not many persons? If He is wrong, then will you tell us where He is wrong, and promise your listeners that you will contact Him and show Him the error of His way?

Caller - If I know that Christ is the right God and He walked on this earth as the Son of God, if on the day of judgment we are slaves of righteousness and have the spirit of Christ helping you will we have wrongs on us at judgment or will I be perfect without sin?; What places us into the body of Christ Jesus is it preformance or the spirit?
E-Mail Question - I keep hearing church of Christ denomination preachers say that there is " only one plan of Salvation ". If this is correct, then Nicodemus and the thief on the cross were saved the same way. If this is correct, then Simon the Sorcerer was saved the same way during both of His conversions. Isn't it true that instead of teaching one plan of Salvation, church of Christ preachers teach four different plans (ways) of Salvation, two before Jesus' crucifixion, and two after Jesus resurrection? Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe you teach that Nicodemus' conversion required water baptism, but the thief's and others that Jesus declared to be forgiven during His earthly ministry (Matthew 9:2,Luke 5:20, Luke7:48) did not. That's two different means, or ways, or plans, of Salvation before Jesus' resurrection. Maybe I am wrong, but I believe that you teach that Simon the Sorcerer (and anyone else) cannot be saved apart from water baptism during their first conversion, but is saved without water baptism during their second conversion. That's two different ways, or means, or plans, of being saved after Jesus' resurrection. If there is just one plan of Salvation, then we need to know which one it is; the one of the thief on the cross and Simon the Sorcerer's second conversion that does not require water baptism, or the one of Nicodemus and Simon the Soccer's first conversion that does require water baptism?

E-Mail Question - Hello. I am a "recovering" Baptist. I grew up going to a Baptist church never missing a service. I accepted Jesus as my Savior somewhere around the age of 10 and was baptized at the Baptist church we were attending. I was taught the Baptist way and knew it extremely well. About 3 years ago I got to thinking about all the different denominations and beliefs. No matter what the subject is there is a different beliefby the different denominations and I came to the conclusion somebody was wrong and somebody was right. So I set out to determine the truth. It was one ofthe hardest things I ever did. I knew that I had to study the Bible for what it said and make sure I wasn't reading it and making it say what I had been taught. I did not consult anyone when reading and cross referenced everything to make sure I was following God's words and not man's words. It didn't take long to realize how wrong the Baptist teachings were. I now know that "once saved always saved" is false and is such a dangerous teaching. I also know that baptism is required for salvation and that it is not "optional", I also looked for a verse that says to say a "sinners prayer" and I can not find one. I know now that you have to hear the Gospel, believe it, repent (which is not a "sinners prayer"), confess Jesus before men, and be baptized. Now I have several questions. I have a dear friend that teaches that you should be baptized in the name ofJesus only. He makes some good points that I don't know the answer to. All through Acts everyone was baptized in the name ofthe Lord Jesus and not the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Matthew 28:19 says to baptize in the name of, which is singular. He says ifwe were to baptize in all three that "name" should have been plural. I have thought and studied on it and can not come up with any answers. Lastly, like I said I was baptized at a Baptist church in the name ofthe Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Now that I have learned the correct way to be saved, was I really saved then and do I need to be baptized again? I have thought long and hard about these issues and I can't come to a clear cut answer. I have had so many prayers answered and in ways that there is no doubt that it was God who intervened in my problems and solved them. So that makes me think everything is ok in my relationship with Him. I can't afford to be wrong. Thank you for your time on these issues. Please email me a response as I usually only get to hear about halfofyour radio broadcast each week since I don't get offwork until 2:30. Keep up the good work you are doing and keep me in your prayers as I will continue to pray for you. Your friend in Christ, Signed

E-Mail Question - It is inevitable that Legalists will untimately condemn one another. Legalism, by definition, cannot tolerate deviation from the individual Legalist's conclusion, as proven in the history and present condition in the group the speakers on this program associate themselves with; church of Christ. Here's a history lesson;
E-Mail Question - Which side of the cup debate do the speakers on this program fall on; the one cup brethren, or the multiple cups brethren? I have read church of Christ articles that condemn " many cuppers " of the church of Christ as hell bound. If you are " one-cuppers", do you do the same, and if so, are you also asserting that a person that meets all the criteria for being in your group except for the number of cups they use during the Lord's Supper is lost and hell bound? I'm sure both groups give a pattern for their practice in debating this issue, so how does the one-cupper be so sure of their position that they are confident in condemning the brethren in their group? I have noticed that no other Christian groups except the church of Christ is so ready to condemn their fellow brethren this way.

Internet News Article - The Bible teaches that infants are born sinful and are in need of forgiveness. Scripture says nothing about an "Age of Accountability" that begins at the age of reason. Its message is that accountability begins at conception. David confesses in Psalm 51 :5, "Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me." The Bible teaches original sin, that the corruption and guilt of Adam's sin is passed on to every human being at conception. Jesus affirms tl1is teaching when He says, "Flesh gives birth to flesh" (John 3:5). Paul takes it up in Romans 5:18: "So then as through one transgression there resulted condemnation to all men, even so through one act of righteousness there resulted justification of life to all men. Furthermore, Jesus said, "He who believes and is baptized shall be saved; he who believes not shall be damned" (Mark 16:16). According to Jesus, ANYONE who does not believe in Him will be damned. Jesus makes no exception for infants. Babies will not be saved without faith in Jesus. ParentsĀ· who think they are placing their children under God's grace by "dedicating" them are deceiving themselves. The only dedication that the New Testament knows of is the "dedication" that take place via baptism. That is why infants should be baptized. Like everyone else, they desperately need forgiveness. If infants die before they believe in Jesus, they will be eternally condemned. They, like everyone else, need to be baptized so that they can be born again. Jesus said, "unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God" (John 3:5). We believe that baptism is God's special means of grace for children by which He causes them to be born again. To keep them from baptism is to keep them from forgiveness and to endanger them with damnation.;

E-Mail Question - "Accountability" ...Take for example this story, A man lived in Kingsport, TN on the same street that my mother did. He had a secret relationship with a woman other than his wife. This man never repented and kept this relationship going until one day something happened. This man lost his ability to reason, he became like a wild young child and stayed this way until he died a few months later. Seeing this man never repented, for the years God gave him to do so, is his soul lost? Some say he went to heaven when he died becuase he did not have the mental ability to continue the relationship of adultery at that time. I have my doubts about this becuase he never intended to repent of his wrong when he was able to do so. This same principle could apply to many different situations other than the marriage relationship. This could happen in a business relationship or in another number of different things. To say this man went to heaven when he died would like saying that someone would go to heaven because they died of an illness before they will consent to being baptized. I would like to know what your thoughts are, 1 John 5:16 & Revelation 21:8;

Discussion - Continuing discussion on C.E.N.I. (Command, Example, Necessary Inference)
Caller - Are you suppose to do exactly what the scriptures says to do; and what about the holy kiss?
E-Mail Question - Take for example this story. A man lived on the same street that my parents did. He had a secret relationship with a woman other than his wife. This man never repented and kept the relationship going until one day something happened. This man lost his ability to reason. He became like a wild young child and stayed this way until he died a few months later. Seeing that this man never repented for the years that God gave him to do so, is his soul lost? Some say that he went to heaven when he died because he did not have the mental ability to continue the relationship of adultery at that time. I have my doubts about this because he never intended to repent of his wrong when he was able to do so. This same principle could apple to many different situations other than the marriage relationship. This could happen in a business relationship or in number of other different things. To say that this man went to heaven when he died is like saying someone will go to heaven because they die of an illness before they will consent to being baptized. I want to know what your thoughts are on this 1 John 5:16 and and Revelation 21:8, signed.

Discussion - Continuing discussion on C.E.N.I. Q. Is there an example or " pattern " in the New Testament of A. a preacher commanding a lost Gentile to be baptized for the remission of sins or B. a lost Gentile following the command of a preacher to be baptized for the remission of sins?;
E-Mail continued - We have two cases in the New Testament where it must be inferred that " lost Gentiles are commanded to be baptized for the remission of sins"; Acts 16:30-33 and Acts 1 0: 34-38. In both instances the expected and forthcoming command to " be baptized for the remission of sins" that is always asserted by church of Christ denomination preachers is nowhere to be found, ergo the " necessary inference " hermeneutic. Why do Baptismal Remissionists infer what the context of Scripture taken at face value ( literal interpretation ) never infers? Because the Scripture has to comply with a presupposed theology (baptismal remission). When Paul commanded the Philippian jailor to " believe" to be saved, Acts 2:38 and Mark 16:16 did not exist to " run to " for reference. If Paul insisted that the jailor be baptized in order to be saved, and didn't in fact give him this information ( and he didn't ), then we have to conclude that the jailor" understood on his own ", without Paul ever telling him, that he was to " be baptized in water in order to contact the blood of Christ" i.e. " have his sins remitted ".

Continuing discussion of E-Mail about C.E.N.I. - It is notable that the church of Christ apologist will not go to Acts 2:38 when confronted with this question. Why? Because there was not one Gentile in the crowd that day. As a matter of fact, not one Gentile is found being added to the Church after Pentecost until after Acts chapter seven. Church of Christ remissionists insist that Mark 16:16 is a command when it isn't both contextually and grammatically. The command is in verse fifteen;" Go ye into all the world, and preach the Gospel to every creature".;

Question from E-Mail - I am sorry that my computer crashed in the middle of that question, but The question that I'm asking is isn't listening to music sending the wrong message to an unbeliever? I know that when I was a unbeliever I would have looked down on anybody that claimed to be Christian, and still listened to the same music that they did be for. I'm just saying that we should be careful about the messages that we as Christians are sending to the unbelievers. Please put this email with the last email that I sent, and read it as one. Love the website. Love ..., your sister in Christ. God bless you, and good day. Question from E-Mail - Hi my name is ..., I have written you before, but not on this subject. So I hope you don't mind me writing when I have a question! I would like to know if you can give me Book Chapter and verse for the music you listen to? I have heard some of you on this program say that it was OK to listen to "bluegrass" Music where is that found at in the Bible? Can you please explain please? Love the website. I have it in my favorites list, I hope you don't mind. By the way I'm a girl. Good day. Love .... God bless you. Question from E-Mail - Hello Wesley, I have a Question. I was listening to the broadcast online, and noticed that you cut the music out of the online broadcast, why? I all so wondered what music was OK to listen to? One of you brought up the fact that its OK to listen to "bluegrass music" as long as its not gospel. Did I miss understand something there? Can you please explain. By the way I'm a girl. Love the website. Can you put up a list of Gospel meetings going on in the local area? I am from Saltville, and can not pick you up down hear, so I have to listen online. Thanks for the streams. E-Mail Question - Sir, I listen to your program on the radio 690. I have never heard so much stuff to mislead people, also your more or less saying that you are the only one right, this is scary. The things that I have heard you say are so far from the truth it is terrible and it is crazy to have a program just to try to say your right. The Bible should not be argued. You're always giving challenges on much stuff and you say no preacher can show you any different, but that is totally not true. It for sure you must be studying something besides the Bible. What you are giving is not from the King James Bible. If so, you're studying it upside down. It would be better for you just to preach your lies and not have program to try to prove your belief which is very silly. But we will all stand before God one day, give an account for what we say. But what you say about and teach is very false and misleading to many. I don't know where you find your facts, but it sure is not facts and I will write or e-mail you and show you the next time. Christ returns, it will be in the clouds and take the church home and then after the tribulation he will come bvack and step on Mount Olivet and will set up a thousand years here on earth with the church and with the Jews that come to Christ during the great tribulation. I will not argue, this seems that is all you want to do. Anyone

Answering questions why the broadcast is not being live on internet;
E-Mail Question - Dear Wesley, Just some comments about today's program. 1, God is in control, that we can agree with, but that does not mean that there is not consequences for what America is doing. {IE} "Abortion, Gay marriage, Lazeyness, and shacking up." All of which are allowed today. Don't fool your listeners, or your selvs that God will just over look these sins, because there will be consequences to pay for what America has let happen. That is a specially true in the Church today. You think that it doesn't matter how you live, you even said that on the program today yourselves? That is why your churches are falling apart today. Do you really believe, or even think God is happy with America just relecting a ratical "Proabortionest" as your prisedent? Look back in the "old Testement" Which I know you don't agree with, but look how many times that people sinned what happend? There were consequences for their sins. Something you, and the speakers on this program do not believe in. Why not? Why do you never point out what is going to happen as a result of not repenting? Repentence is apart of being saved, but something you and the speakers on this program do not want to deal with. You never point out the consequence of not repenting why is that? You as preachers are called to preach the Gospel, that means the intire Gospel not just what you agree with. Again you may teach "well you must repent to be saved" but in your own teaching what will happen if you don't repent wesley? Nothing. That's right not a thing. No consequences for your sin. Why do you not teach the consequence for your sin. Why, did you your selvs vote for the "Proabortionest"? Is he paying you not to condemn the nations "proabortionest view, his gay marriage, and lazeyness? Are you and the speakers on this program in his back pocket? In your own teaching there is no consequences for your sins, leading one to say then why should you repent at all. After all their is know consequence for not repenting. That is your own ungodly teaching! Why do you refuse to teach the consequences of not repenting or even the consequences of your sins? Do you not believe in consequences of sin, or do you just not care Wesley? Have you never read proverbs 9 nations will be turned in to hell because they forget God, or do you even care? Why not tell the truth? Sin has consequences, but that is something you, and the speakers on this program denie. So I ask this question Why do you not care about the 15,000,000 babys that are killed every day all in the name of a "woman's right"? I think all those babys that will be killed because your in your nation's leaders back pocket they deserve an answer. Of course there will be know answer. Missionary to South Asia, ...., State side! Repentance is a part of being saved, but something you and the speakers on this program do not want to deal with. You never point out the consequences of not repenting. Why is that?
