Host: Wesley Simons - Elizabethton, TN
Panel: Eddy Craft - Co-Director at the TCSOP & CD; Tim Phillips - Dean of Instructors at the TCSOP & CD

E-Mail Question - God bless you and thank you for what you are doing. First. I listen as often as I can and I've heard you talking about speaking in tongues so my question is. If a person is claiming this gift but is not receiving any gift from The Holy Spirit wouldn't they be guilty of blaspheming The Holy Spirit? I've heard people do this in church and it always sounds the same and I've always viewed mocking The Holy Spirit in such a way as a very very bad thing. Something I would never do. Second. How do you know if you are being called by God? I know that as Christians we all have a work to do, He called us out of darkness for a reason. Me, I've always wanted to preach but people say to make sure it is your calling and not just something you want to do. Well wouldn't a desire to serve God like this be of God? I mean, Satan is not going to want anyone to do something for The Kingdom so it would have to be from God right? I have heard people in church say that they would not want to preach, that it's to much responsibility but to me there could be no greater honor to preach The Word and be there for others who are in need. To much responsibility?? What is wrong with these people! How great a blessing and joy it would be to stand before a congregation and speak the real truth, HIS TRUTH!! I just don't want to do something if it is not what God wants me to.
Caller - Where does it say the rick young ruler was saved?
Caller - Commenting on those who are saved.
Caller - Speaking about the Word should be desired for elders as well as preachers.
E-Mail Continued - I want you to know that I was an atheist up until age 39, almost 6 years ago before God called me home but I have done much in the past that haunts me today. Sure I drank like a fish, cursed like a sailor, chased women and watched enough porn to fill up a battleship but that's not it. What weighs on me is that back in those days I insulted those who tried to speak to me about God, mocked them, cursed them and this is what haunts me even now. I've tried to lay it down but it's still there, I sometimes think that God has allowed to hold onto this weight to remind me but I'm not sure why.
Caller - Telling about when they were saved and have not asked prople if they are a Christian; will their blood be on my hands?

I've heard people do this in church and it always sounds the same and I've always viewed mocking The Holy Spirit in such a way as a very very bad thing. Something I would never do.
Caller - Did the tongues begin on the Day of Pentecost?
E-Mail continued - Second. How do you know if you are being called by God? I know that as Christians we all have a work to do, He called us out of darkness for a reason. Me, I've always wanted to preach but people say to make sure it is your calling and not just something you want to do. Well wouldn't a desire to serve God like this be of God? Panel: Michael Jordan - Dean of Media at the TCSOP & CD; Tim Phillips - Dean of Instructors at the TCSOP & CD

E-Mail - If God is love and he loves me more than any creation, why would he not die for me but send his only aon to die for me. Why would Godfather put to death one son Jesus? Why did he not choose third man Holy Spirit to die for the world? This is very confusing, please forgive me... I do not understand the love of the one person of the father, another of the son and another of the spirit. My wife and I are one, (John 10:30) but I wold not send her or my son to die in my place. I love my wife, and son and would die for them. Why did God not die for me himself? Why did he put this on Jesus? If Jesus is the son of God, why did he say "I am the father" when God is the father? (John 14:10-11) When someone asks to speak to my father I do not say "I am he" my father would say that was not true. How can we believe Jesus Christ died and rose again when he did not even know who he was (father or son???) I really do question Christianity of the church of Christ with Christ being the second man of the Godhead. Why are you not The Church of God when God has all power and is first in the Godhead? Why are you Christ only? When son Christ is second man and makes a claim that he is the father? This leads me to believe that you are "Jesus only". The Bible does say that son Jesus is seated on the right hean of father God. I can see why the atheists does not believe in God, because he sent his son to die in the father's place. I do not know of any fathers that would let their sons die on their place? I have heard many say "They would not ask anyone else to do anything that they would not do themself."
Caller - After Jesus arose, he appeared a couple of times to his disciples with flesh and bones. Explain John 20:27-28.
E-Mail continued - Why do you do all things in Jesus name when he is only second in command? Why can't we ask God to save us? What if son Jesus tries to push Godfather off the throne and take full control. (I would be mad as the devil if my father put me to death and said he loved me.)
Caller - Would you read and comment on Colossians 2:9.
Caller - God cannot be tempted neither is tempted ut Jesus was tempted in all points as we are tempted but without sin.
Caller - Commenting on Colossians 2:9.

Panel: Eddy Craft - Co-Director at the TCSOP & CD; Tim Phillips - Dean of Instructors at the TCSOP & CD

E-Mail - Dear Mr. Simons, I picked up the radio program as I traveled thru on 81. I was appalled at how you gentleman argue with callers and sow discord among the brethren. You told many lies as if your conscience is seared. If your claim for truth was valid, you would preach the word of God instead of arguing. You are known by the fruits you bear and your spirit is of the world. A true Christian will NEVER argue about the truth and lie and judge sinners. As I researched the reviews of this program I learned most sinners are offended by your argumentative attitude. If you desire to make Heaven your home, I suggest you remove this program from the air. A sinner will not respect a Christian if you argue with them. You sir are double-minded, you speak one thing and turn around and say the opposite and then you have the gall to lie and say you did not say those things. You can only fool the callers that are illerate, true Christians recognize your foul spirit. You proclaim that this is the listener's program, you go where they want to talk about what they want to talk about. You sir are only feeding your argumentative spirit on public air, and that is of the devil. How can you sleep at night when you are destroying souls? I hope you do not have blood on your hands. Sinners know if a so-called Christian will argue, they do not have love. Yourself and the panel should be ashamed. please, please do not lie on the air and say you are sorry for arguing, Sinners can see through a hypocrite. This program is a reproach to the kingdom. Signed, LP DW

Discussion - Veganism.
E-Mail - Ethical Veganism is the refusal to eat or use any animal products based on the concept that we are to "do no harm to animals" The "Christian" ethical vegan attempts to use the Bible to justify this conclusion. I would like to hear rebuttals to the following Ethic Vegan "Christian" assertions regarding this. 1. Those who eat animal meat are murderers because the Bible says "Thou shalt not kill". 2. The "ideal" diet for all humans is the Adamic and Isaiah 11 diet, therefore every Christian should espouse Ethical Veganism in order to attain to this "ideal". 3. 1 Cor. 8:13 and Romans 14:10, 13, and 15 denys any Christian the right to judge Ethical Veganism to be anti-Biblical. Thanks for your response to these assertions by Ethical Veganism, a philosophy that is on the rise within Christendom.

E-Mail - Arise to lies, Where are you dead, dry and boring catholic trinitarians hiding at? Behind your three gods? Since gospel music, women testifying and the Holy Ghost terrifies your Holy Spirit, I will agree to a public debate at your church without the emotional hype. You agree to a radio or public debate and now you are running like a devil who has enough common sense to tremble and believe that there is only one - God = JESUS = JAMES 2:19 KJV. No where in the Bible does it say "there is three Gods". The word trinity is not even in the Bible unless you added it. In Heaven if you see two separate persons. father and son, what happened to the holy spirit?? ohhhhhhhhhh he must be on vacation!!!!!! Truth is, there can not be one if there is three and there can not be three if there is one. You claim that Wesley, Chuck and Tim are one. If Wesley is the father, Chuck is the son and Tim is the Holy Ghost. Please ask son Chuck if he wuld be crucified for ole dad Wesley??? Also you three do not agree on everything!!! I guarantee that you may live for a lie, but you will not die for a lie. Many ex trinitarians have testified that the "trinity" is a lie that originated from teh sprinkled catholics. The mystery of the Diety is hidden from some people = Luke 10:21-22. You and your clowns from the Apostolic/Pentecostals are all about hype and emotions but yet are the dead, dry boring members of The Church of Christ can shout and cheer for the stupid Vols or Hokies who would never die for them or care if they are hurting or sick. If you really believed that Jesus Christ's blood has the power to deliver us from sin you would be excited and show more emotion because that is how we overcome this wicked world and be a witness to the lost. I refuse to run after you three god dudes, I will shake the dust off my feet and move on in the Holy Ghost. Praying you fins the truth, Anthony Roberts.
E-Mail Question - Dear Mr. Wesley Simons I have a few more questions for you. You can use them for arise to truth. I am new at some of this stuff 1. What is wrong with the church of God? If i read my Bible right the church of God is in the Bible. What is the differences between the two Church of Christ and Church of God? 2. Is it wrong to work in a restaurant that serves drink. Is it ok for us as Christians to serve drive as part of the job? How to avoid something like this?

E-Mail Question - Hello, Wesley: I am normally strong in my faith, due in large part to your work and the work of those who put the Arise to Truth Program on the air, but one area of thought has been troubling me lately and I've yet to hear it addressed. I don't think I've even heard atheists mention this, and I've watched a lot of debates. If we are influenced to do evil by Satan, and Satan is a fallen angel... then who or what influenced Satan to become evil? If God's creation began pure and unblemished by evil - from where came the source of evil that caused Satan to fall, and why was it allowed to stand? Why would God allow this failure of an angel to step into His perfect creation on Earth, and essentially "take over?" Why would God let His universe be spoiled in such a manner, only to necessitate devising a system of salvation - when the problem could have been avoided altogether by destroying Satan at the outset or by taking away his power? After all, everlasting destruction is what's promised to US if WE don't behave - so how does Satan not only get away with spitting in the face of The Almighty, but is seemingly rewarded for it? I say "rewarded" for it, because not only does he get the power to cause people to do his bidding, but at the end of time, he gets to keep all the souls he's capture? So, why would God acquiesce and hand over His creation to a failed angel? Finally, with Satan wielding all this power, and possessing the ability to enter people's minds and influence their behavior… doesn't that also make him omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent, just like God? If not, then HOW is he able to get into people's minds? I'm terrified that I'm having these thoughts, since my faith is otherwise based on sound logic and apologetics study, but I just can't reconcile these questions. Can the Arise to Truth panel please help? Thank you.
Caller - Does God tempt us?
Caller - In Matthew 28:18 limited what the devil has the power to do.

E-Mail from Anthony - You need to change the name of the program to: THE SIMON" the sorcerer" and Eddy Witchcraft comedy hour. I always get a big laugh at how you clowns distort the truth. Keep up the good work!!!
Wesley's rersponse - Anthony, Name calling shows a child-like attitude and proves nothing. We beg you to be man enough to back up your challenge. You challenged us to a debate on this program and we accepted it. You declare that we are wrong! What a golden opportunity for a "holy spirit" filled man to teach the listening audience the truth, but you will not!!! My, My. Anthony, what would Jesus do??? We know why you will not appear on this program and that is you are without Bible proof. All we can say is it is sad when a "holy spirit' filled man runs from an investigation of truth. Jesus said, "Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free." We are ready (Rom. 1:15-17). We have the evidence (1 Thess. 5:21). We have God, Christ and the Holy Spirit on our side, all three of them. You have killed two of them and we will prove it. Please come to the debate!!!!!! God has not given us the spirit of fear.
Response from Anthony - There is no need for a debate because you are "anti christ" You believe the Catholic doctrine. Why do you call yourselves "The Church of Christ" when you do not believe who Christ is??? The Bible clearly shows that there is one God and his name is Jesus.James 2:19 KJV 19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well the devils also believe, and tremble 1 JOHN 5:7 KJV For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. You claim to be an english professor and you do not even know the difference between name and names. Matt 28:19. The name of the father, son and holy ghost is Jesus. If there were three it would read (NAMES of father, son, holy ghost.)
Later in the e-mail - Don't you and your clowns ear, we will debate the truth, I will work out the details.
Caller - Commenting on the man that is sending the e-mail.
Caller - When did the Holy Spirit die? When did they change from one to be three and give Scripture?

E-Mail Lewtter - I refuse to debate the truth where there is a homosexual spirit. You can not answer why The Church of Christ ladies look like men, they chop off their hair, wear pants and paint their face like Jezebul, just as Bruce Jenner portrays as a women. If a lady should not wear a dress and have long hair, why did Bruce Jenner put on a dress and grow long hair = IN YOUR FACE DEVIL!!!! Why would you love a women that looks like a man = you are attracted to the appearance of a man!!! Also you do not know who God is, you twist and prevert the truth to fit your worldly lifestyle. JOHN 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. You whine and cry that there is three Gods, (father, son, holyspirit)???? IF YOU HAD TO DIE, WOULD YOU SEND YOUR SON TO DO IT FOR YOU? You whine and cry that there is three Gods, (father, son, holyspirit)???? IF YOU HAD TO DIE, WOULD YOU SEND YOUR SON TO DO IT FOR YOU?
Caller - When you are attempting to lead someone to Christ what map do you use?
Back to e-mail - The God I serve (Jesus Christ) has to power to robe his spirit in flesh as Jesus Christ and come to earth in flesh and be crucified and rose again on the third day.If there is three Gods, Jesus has two dads = (HOLY SPIRIT & THE FATHER) You mock and say "Jesus is seated on the right hand of God" (Mark 16:19) The Bible clearly shows that God is a spirit, if God was only flesh he could be destroyed by death. You deny that God has the power to do anything. 2 examples that God is the spirit, Jesus was his Flesh and name, HolyGhost is the power = 1. My titles are son, father, husband, cousin, nephew, grandson= ONE PERSON My name (Anthony Roberts) is the power of attorney. 2. Ice cream = name, comes in many titles (chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, ect.) but the name is ice cream. 2 examples that God is the spirit, Jesus was his Flesh and name, HolyGhost is the power = 1. My titles are son, father, husband, cousin, nephew, grandson= ONE PERSON My name (Anthony Roberts) is the power of attorney. 2. Icecream = name, comes in many titles (chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, ect.) but the name is icecream. God can be whatever flavor he wants, (FATHER, SON,AND HOLYGHOST ALL THREE IN ONE, IN ONE CARTON) Baptism in the name of Jesus Christ (Acts2:38) fulfills Matt. 28:19 because I can not sign a check by using FATHER, SON, HUSBAND, NEPHEW, COUSIN.=!MUST USE MY NAME TO HAVE POWER TO CASH THE CHECK!!!!!!!!!!! If you do not use the name of Jesus Christ, there is no power to wash away sin. John 19:19 (title) Jesus of Nazareth King of the Jews = who he is. Matt. 28:19 (titles) Father, Son, Holy Ghost = who he is. Acts 2:39 (name) Jesus Christ. This explains why The Church of Christ is Dead, Dry and boring as a turtle. You do not have the power of God in the Holy Ghost. If I meet you or The Church of Christ on the street, I would never know that you follow Christ because you look like the world and do everything that this wicked world does and call it "LOVE" I pray the HolyGhost falls on you live on the air and you speak with tongues and this wicked world comes and arrest you, throws you in jail and persecutes you like the Apostles. Then you may "ARISE TO TRUTH" Anthony R

E-Mail - Arise to the truth panel, I rebuke you in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, you are blaspheming the Holy Ghost by denying it is not essential for salvation. The claim of your program is to answer the teaching of false doctrine but you are spreading false doctrine. Biblical proof:Jesus said "Except a man be born of WATER and of THE SPIRIT, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God" John 3:5. In obedience to Christ, Peter preached the new birth experience to the BELIEVERS on the day of Pentecostal. Acts 2:38. Water=baptized=buried with him (in the name of Jesus Christ Luke 24:47, Acts 4:12) Col. 2:11 also Rom. 6:4 Spirit=Holy Ghost=resurrection of Christ (Rom. 6:5, Col. 2:12). Jesus said "And these signs shall follow them that BELIEVE...they shall speak with NEW TONGUES". Mark 16:17= HolyGhost Acts 2:1-4; Titus 3:5. The panel stresses believing and baptism but leaves out the Holy ghost. Rev. 22:19. To leave out the spirit is like assembling a bicycle and leaving off the wheels (you are not going anywhere) = no power. Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: The Holy Ghost gives me power to take up serpents (Mark 16:18) with a hoe and chop their evil head off. Also I accidental drank some deadly thing (KEY WORD "IF") and we prayed in Jesus name with the power of the Holy Ghost and he healed me. No wonder Church of Christ services are dead and boring as a funeral home, YOU ARE DENYING THE HOLY SPIRIT. Nobody wants to gather to watch water freeze, you got to have the fire of the Holyghost to put the devil on the run. Acts 1:8. This explains why you must have a tv in your home and your young people listen to worldly music= Church of Christ is boring/dead.One of your panel members said "He reads the Bible more when he turns the tv off" If you had the power of the Holyghost you could kick that "one eyed devil out of your home!!!! Salvation is not "TAKE YOUR PICK/ MULTIPLE CHOICE" = REV 22:19 OR Matt. 24:13 OR Mark 16:16 OR Acts 16:31. OR Acts 22:16 OR Acts 2:38 OR Rom. 10:9-10 OR Rom. 10:13 OR Eph. 2:8-9 OR James 2:14-26. You do not understand "WORKS" in Eph. 2:8-9. Works is not repentance, baptism, Holy Spirit = James 2:24. Works is man-made salvation = good deeds, giving to the poor, money = Acts 8:18-20. You folks claim to believe...but where are the signs? Mark 16:17, Mat. 7:20, Gal. 5:22-23. Biblical proof that you will not respond, or address the Holy Ghost on the program is 1 TH. 5:12-13. Why not invite a ONE-GOD, APOSTOLIC, TONGUE TALKING HOLYROLLER, BORN AGAIN BELIEVER, to debate truth on the program? THE TRUTH SHALL MAKE YOU FREE!!!!!! Anthony Roberts

E-Mail Question continuing from previous program - Dear Mr. Simons (and the brothers on Arise to Truth), Thank you so much for the work that you do. Your radio program has answered many Bible questions that I have had over the past year. I was raised in a Seventh-Day Adventist household, though it was not strict. My folks took my siblings and me to worship services when I was very young. We also attended church camps and revivals. When I was a teenager, I was baptized in an Adventist church after a weeklong revival. After a disagreement with someone in the congregation, my father stopped going, which meant the whole family did too. Even today, my folks go to an Adventist church service occasionally. I met my wife when I was 19. She was a member of the Lord's Church, and though it upset my father, I began to attend church with her. For many years, after hearing the sermons at a Church of Christ, I questioned whether I was truly saved. It took 16 years, but I finally acknowledged that I never truly obeyed the gospel all those years ago. Swallowing my pride, I happily and humbly obeyed the gospel and was baptized for the remission of sins. Thanks be to God for giving me time on this earth to make that important decision and for adding me to the Lord's church. Though my parents do not attend a Seventh-Day Adventist church regularly, they still identify as Adventists. I am in the process of creating study guides to go over with them. I have listened to your archived programs regarding the Sabbath. But I want to be prepared and able to answer any possible questions I may receive from them. One question I have deals with the end of Sabbath observance and the beginning of observing the first day of the week. From an Adventists' perspective, those who worship on Sunday have accepted the "mark of the beast." I heard this growing up quite a bit. Most of the time when I talk religion with my dad, the conversation can get heated and I am accused of "taking the mark of the beast" because I am a so-called Sunday-Keeper. Here's my question: Why is there little fuss in the New Testamet from the Jews about ending Sabbath observance and worshipping together on the first day of the week? From what we read in the New Testament, we see the Jews take the Sabbath very seriously (Matt. 12:1-12 is just one example). There is a lot of discussion about carrying over Old Testament laws like circumcision and eating certain meats, but it doesn't seem to be a problem that there was an end to Sabbath observance by early Christians. I could see Sabbatarians using this argument as proof that the Sabbath-observance never ended in the first century. We New Testament Christians go to verses like Acts 20:7 to say that the breaking of bread was observed on the first day of the week, which is why we worship on that day too. However, I have heard the argument that Christians were breaking bread daily (Acts 2:46), so they were taking communion every day or every time they met together. How can we be sure that it is talking about a common meal and not a communion service? I have also been a little confused about the breaking of bread in Acts 20:7 and then reading a little later in the night that Paul breaks bread again in Acts 20:11. We are taught that one is partaking of communion and the other is eating a meal. How do we know that?
Caller - Talking about Number 5:21-22, sayng that God aborted a child. Talking about the NIV as well about the passage.
Caller - Have you ever seen or read the Thomas Jefferson version?

Caller - Was Jesus a pagan? Some churches say he was. What was Jesus? What is a pagan?
E-mail question - I only recently had the chance to listen via your program list to the response to the email entitled "Know Ye Not". This exact phrase appears at least 11 times in the New Testament, Romans 6:3 being one of them. I asserted that "know ye not" in Romans 6:3 denotes a state of ignorance, and the speakers on this program asserted it denotes a reminder. There are two Greek words for "not", used in these 11 verses in the New Testament; "Agnoeo" (used in Romans 6:3), and "Ou", (used in other places). The word "Agnoeo" (not) in Romans 6:3 is defined as follows... 1. To be ignorant 2.Not to understand; unknown 3.To err or sin through mistake; to be wrong. This word "Agnoeo", as the link I provide shows, is translated over and over in the New Testament as "ignorant" or "ignorance". Will the speakers on this program continue to dispute the meaning of the words "know ye not" in Romans 6:3 in light of this evidence to the contrary? Here is the link, with other Bible verses that render the Greek word "Agnoeo"...

E-Mail Question - I have been listening to Arise to Truth on the internet in Ontario, Canada. My comments are on Holy Spirit baptism. Matthew 3:11; Luke 3:16; John 1:33 "he shall baptize you in the Holy Spirit" My questions are: What was it about Christ baptism that caused John to say Matthew 3:14 I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? Did John need to receive the Holy Spirit? Luke 1:15 and he shall be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb. Christ baptized more than John, John 3:22-26; 4:1-2, Did those being baptize receive the Holy Spirit? John 7:39 But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believed on him were to receive: for the Spirit was not yet given; because Jesus was not yet glorified. Maybe you gentlemen could comment on these verses. Thank You.

E-mail Question - Hello to those at Arise to Truth. I appreciate your program and hope that you will keep up the good work. Personally, I have learned allot from listening to you and hope that it helps better prepare me to help someone else. I'm like you and when I hear something that doesn't fit or that is out of harmony with other passages it greatly bothers me. I realize that we don't have to come to understanding on everything in the Bible, but it can cause unnecessary confusion. If I'm not mistaken, I've heard the following passages (Acts 2:38; 3:19; 5:32; John 7:37-39, etc.) used on Arise to Truth to refer to the Holy Spirit in the miraculous sense. But the language is very clear that it actually refers to the personal indwelling. It is correct that God the Father and God the Son also dwell in us, but it is by the Spirit (Ephesians 2:22; 1 John 3:24; cf. 4:13). I don't know what language could have been used to make it any clearer. I hope that this helps because I want everyone to be on the same page when it comes to the truth even if it's not a matter of salvation. Most scholars agree that Acts 2:38 for example actually refer to the personal indwelling.Keep up the good work guys we need the truth, and like you said, souls are at stake., Signed.
Caller - Asking for prayer request for a camp for the blind.
Caller - Commenting on John 20:22-23.
E-mail QuestionHow can someone simply come to the front of the meeting hall and repent? I don’t see how this is possible. People come to the front of the meeting hall and confess . There is a whole lot of difference between confession and repenting. In acts 16:33 we see that the Philippian Jailer washed Paul and Silas’s wounds. The jailer not only confessed but repented by making right the wrong that was done to Paul and Silas by washing and treating their wounds. In Luke 19:8 we see Zacchaeus repenting by saying that half of what he had he would give to the poor and restore four fold anything that he had falsely taken from anyone. In the Church of today that is not the case. All anyone must do is come to the front of the building, shed a few crocodile tears, and sweep the rest under the rug. I have seen this many times. True repentance is no longer necessary. This is one of the reasons that there are so many Atheists. Many people see this and realize that the people who call themselves followers of the Christ are hypocrites and liars. I have heard many atheists say one may sin all of their life and wait until they are on their deathbed and merely say that they are sorry, sincere or not, and in the eyes of the people who claim to be Christians this works. This reminds me of a minister who claimed to be a member of the Lord’s Church once telling me that “We can use the Bible as a reference but we must look at other things”. People follow only a part of the whole instruction found in Philippians 2:12. They work out their own salvation, but use NO fear and trembling in doing so. These people are NOT right with God and are NOT right with their fellow man. I would not want to spend an eternity with such people.

E-mail Question - Can the speakers on this program give the audiencethe verbatum reading and link to the Greek Lexicon/Concordance that agrees with Wesley and Eddy that defines "Eis" as having the one and only meaning "in order to"? I have not found that Lexicon yet, and am very interested in the link and verbatum reading from it ffrom you. Matthew 12:41 says that Ninevah repented "at (Eis) the preaching of Jonas". Since Wesley and Eddy insists that "Eis" always means "in order to", this would mean that the men of Ninevah repented "in order to" get, receive, or aquire the preaching of Jonah. I believe your own Salvation plan has hearing the preaching before repentance, instead of repenting in order to hear the preaching. Could you read Jonah 3:1-5, and show us where in this text that the people repented "in order to get" the preaching of Jonah?
Young's Literal Translation - Men of Ninevah shall stand up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it, for they reformed at the proclamation of Jonah, and lo, a greater then Jonah here!

E-Mail Question - It is not surprising at all that you immediately started building a straw man of atheism and proceeded with agressive ad-hominism when "dealing with" the very specific assertions I made in the e-mail concerning 1 Peter 3:21 and the pertinent scripture in Genesis, in likening Noah's baptism and my baptism to be figurative in nature. I'm sure you mastered these tactics when studying Apologetics, since you have a degree in it. I will not be dealing with either of these means of destroying your opponent as a tactic today; I will be dealing weith reality today; the reality of you. Wesley, misquoting and adding to God's Word on Thursday's program, when you added the words "to be saved" to Acts 2:37, In an attempt to cause this scripture to teach what it does not teach at face value. It is ironic that you ACTUALLY did what you accuse me of doing IN THEORY (straw man tactic) on this program Thursday; make that Bible say what you want it to say. I have three questions for you: 1. Will you admit that you misquoted and added to God's Word in Acts 2:37?, 2. Will you apologize for misquoting and adding to God's Word in Acts 2:37?, and 3. Will you read what Acts 2:37 really says? I never hear church of Christ denomination preachers "run to" Acts 16:30 when a lost person asks them "What must I do to be saved". I make the charge that these preachers ignore the words that actually eist in favor of words that do not exist, and have to "be made up" to teach the same thing. Why? The answer in Acts 16:30 does not fit the pre-conceived theology, and the changed on (Acts 2:37) does. You validated this charge on your program Thursday, wesley. You have said repeatedly that you would change if shown to be wrong. You have the opportunity to put that statement to the test right now.

E-Mail Question - When I read 1 Peter 3:20-21, I properly understand that water saves me the same way it saved Noah during the flood. When I go and read the account of the flood in Genesis, the only thing I find in association with the words "flood", "waters", and "water", are "destroy" and "destruction". The onmly thing, then, that water did during Noah's day, was literally destroy everything, including Noah if he had been in the water. The flood waters literally destroyed the lost, and never saved anyone, as they were never inted to save; only to destroy. The church of Christ's (the group you associate yourself with) doctrine concerning water baptism is that you are not in the presence of God (saved) until after water baptism. Since our baptism is liken unto the flood baptism in Noah's day, then, if your doctrine is correct, Noah should not have been in the presence of God until after the flood of baptism. When I read my Bible, I find that God, already in the ark, invited Noah into the ark before the baptism of the flood, therefore Noah was saved before the flood. The only thing the flood did, as my baptism does, is declare me to be saved, the same thing it did for Noah. TRhe only way, then, that baptism saves me today, is the way it saved Noah; figuratively, just as 1 Peter 3:21 says it does. A figure is a picture of the reality, a pointing towards the reality. The reality in Noah's day was that the ark asctually saved him, and the flood demonstrated and proved this fact to be true. God was not in the water; He was in the ark. No saving power nor life whatsoever was in the water; only destruction, but it was in the ark, for God was in the ark. That's my understanding of 1 Peter 3:21. To teach 1 Peter3:21 literally would demand that water, since it likens the water to the flood waters of Noah's day, destroys the ones that are in the water, and never saves. I conclude, as the writer does, that this water "figuratively" saves you.

Continuing the e-mail from last program. When Paul is addressing the Roman Christians in Romans 6:3, he includes them in the Lord's Church with the term "us". There is no question as to whether Paul doubted the positional status of one's he was addressing here; they were a;; "members of the Lord's Church". It is interesting then that Paul would as the question "know ye not" concerning their baptism. Paul was literally expressing the fact that some, if not all, did not properly understand the reason they were being baptized at the time they were baptized. Since Paul included them in the Lord's Church, even though they misunderstood what their baptism represented, could you please explain why your theology does not allow for such a scenerio, since the Church of Christ denomination doctrine emphatically demands that one must be contemplating contacting the blood of Christ at the very moment of baptism, else the baptism was in vain because they did not "get it right"? Can you explain why yuo do not allow what the Holy Ghost through Paul did allow; a situation where the members of the Lord's Church had not yet understood the proper meaning of their water baptism?
Wesley, please share this with your students. They deserve to know. If their doctrine is sound, then they can "handle it", but they need to know this.

E-Mail Question - This article is at my website, and demonstrates the almost identical doctrines of Baptismal Remission and Baptismal Regeneration doctrines, thus linking forever two exclusive Christian organizations on earth today; the church of Christ and Roman Catholic denominations. I would encourage you to show the listeners where I am wrong on any of the six points I bring out that shows, in my opinion, these two doctrines to be virtually identical from an outside perspective. I know you will aggresively deny any relation with Roman Catholics, but in the area of baptism theology, based on the points I bring forth, I don't see any difference. Please stick to the six points, and show the listeners that I am wrong in linking thse two organizations together when it comes to water baptism theology concerning Salvation. I would also encourage your young students that are currently appearing on your program to welcome opposing views, and not become weary when the other side " doesn't give up ". I am perpetually frustrated also, like Paul, when I am dealing with what I perceive to be error concerning certain theories that have been proposed by certain groups; namely Losing Salvation theology and Baptismal Remission theology, so the frustration is mutual. Please read the article in it's entirety, and then affirm or deny the specific six points one by one. 1. There Is No Salvation Apart From Water Baptism. 2. The Blood Of Christ Is Contacted During Water Baptism. 3. Water Baptism Does Not Figuratively Save You; It Literally Saves You. 4. No Person Today Becomes A Part Of Christ's Church Apart From Water Baptism. 5. The Purpose Of Water Baptism Is " In Order To Receive " Remission Of Sins. 6. Water Baptism For Salvation Is A Commandment For Today.

E-Mail Question - I have never heard you guys mention this man's name. I'm sure you must know Him, since He lives / has lived in the same area as you do. Here's a quote from an opening statement in a debate He had with another church of Christ preacher; "the Lord's church is divided because of differing views of the New Testament pattern". It would seem to me that you would conclude that there is no such thing as the one Lord's Church having members that had differing patterns; there is one pattern, and the one that does not adhere to this pattern is outside the Church; not in It. Can you tell us why Darrell Broking is wrong, if that is your conclusion, and that you will call Him to straighten Him out on this error?
Caller - In John 1:14 what was the word before it was flesh and explain Hebrews 7:3.
Continuing e-mail - If He is right, then there can exist groups of Christians within the Lord's Church that adhere to differing patterns that they go to the Bible and find. There is evidence in the Book of Acts, specifically chapters 15 and 21, that would support Brother Broking's allowance of multiple pattern groups; that evidence being that two distinct groups of Christians, Jewish and Gentile, differing greatly in doctrine and practice, existed in the one Church simutaneously. Do you accept or reject this conclusion based on a reading of the evidence found in Acts chapters 15 and 21? If you reject, then give us Biblical evidence from Acts showing plainly the reason for rejection. Can you also tell us why Brother Broking has not been invited to speak on your program? I have been listening since 2009, and have never heard Him here. Would you also be interested in debating Him on the quoted statement in this e-mail?

E-Mail Question - Thanks for the response to the previous email concerning the challenge I posed. The response was totally insufficient to the challenge, which was very specific. Let me be as direct and clear as possible; Will you allow an English Professor to call in to your program to analyze the words "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved", by Themselves, to determine whether these Words are constructed grammatically as a descriptive statement, or as a command, as you have affirmed? This is a simple yes or no question. I have posed this very question to random English Professors, and the answer was in no way "both". It has been an either/or answer, and the answer has been consistent 100% of the time. HIS COMMENTS - He that weareth a red hat and comes to the Stoney Creek church of Christ building located at 1162 HWY 91 shall receive a million dollars, but he that believeth not shall be left out. 1. What is essential to receive the million dollars? 2. E-Mail Question - Here's a question that I would like the speakers on this program to answer; Did Ananias teach Paul the Gospel that included water baptism?
Caller - How would you go about baptizing someone who is blind without startling that person?
E-Mail Question - You may laugh out loud when I ask this question, but is with the utmost sincerity that I have pondered it; Do the preachers you are associated with ever cry tears of joy as they are preaching to their congregations? If not, why not? If so, then I rejoice greatly, because it gives hope that the message centers on the Man, and not a plan.
Caller - Commenting on the program and mainly the "Man and the Plan".
E-Mail Question - Wesley, I have a challenge for you and the other speakers on this program. You should be eager to accept, since you are constantly challenging "the denominational world". I have often heard it said on this program that a child can understand the Bible. This implies that any person should be able to understand the Bible from a purely grammatical standpoint, without the aid of the Holy Spirit or a Greek concordance. That brings me to the challenge. I challenge the speakers on this program to allow an English professor to analyze the words "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved" to determine whether these words are constructed grammatically as a descriptive statement, or a command, as you affirm. I am willing to concede that they are a command if the English professor reaches that conclusion. Are you willing to concede that they are a descriptive statement if that conclusion is reached? Since a child can understand the Scriptures, then this challenge should not be problematic at all. If you should decline this challenge. I would like to know the specific reason for the declination. E-mail Question - In a previous email, I made the conclusion that the message that Philip preached to the eunuch that day was from Isaiah chapter 53, and the speakers on this program came to a different conclusion, that conclusion being that it could have been any chapter in Isaiah. I found it to be particularly interesting that no verses before verse 35 in Acts 8 were quoted. Would you read Acts chapter 8, verses 30 through 35 and tell the listeners why it is doubtful as to whether he was preaching from Isaiah 53? I believe a child could read these verses, and then find these very same verses, almost verbatum, in Isaiah chapter 53, therefore reaching the same conclusion that I reached; Philip "preached Jesus" from Isaiah chapter 53. When we read Isaiah 53, we find the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, but we do not find water baptism. The Gospel message from Isaiah 53, that Philip preached to the eunuch that day, whereby after hearing this message, declared "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God", had the power, when believed, to "have the power of God unto Salvation" (Romans 1:16). To me it is indisputable that the message was directly from Isaiah 53. If it is indisputable, and it is, then tell us where water baptism is found in this Gospel message, called "the report" (Isaiah 53:1)?

E-mail Question - The church of Christ denomination affirms that water baptism is part of the Gospel message. If this is true, then we should find it in the Gospel message that Philip preached to the Ethiopian eunuch. When I read the account in Acts 8, the message was from Isaiah 53. When the eunuch said " I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God", He was basing it on having learned the Gospel from Isaiah 53. This Gospel message found in the Old Testament included the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Can you please show us water baptism in Isaiah chapter 53?

As I recall he also said if someone ask what they must do to be saved he would tell them absolutely nothing. I later asked him for book, chapter, and verse where I could read that baptism would not save you. This is what I received from him. It is so full of error I could hardly believe it. Continuing Tuesday's E-Mail - I would like to hear your response to four questions regarding this man in Scripture. 1. If this man had died while washing Paul and Silas' stripes, would He have gone to Heaven or hell? 2. When this man was washing Paul and Silas' stripes, did He have a heart of a child of the devil, or a child of God? 3. Since this man clearly had a change of heart between the time of throwing them into prison to cleansing their bloody wounds, could you please explain what influenced this change of heart, since a child of the devil cannot be led by the Holy Ghost? 4. The cleansing of the stripes preceded water baptism, and would literally have taken hours, so why did he wait until the stripes had been cleansed to be baptized, therefore jeapordizing His soul to hell if he had died during this time? This would mean that He considered the washing of the bloody wounds more important than the Salvation of His soul, since he cleansed their wounds before being baptized.

E-Mail - Lastly, I want to touch on premillennialism. I will concede that I don't know everything, but what tells me that premillennialism is correct is that Satan will be bound with a seal for a thousand years. Is Satan or was he the prince of this world? My thought on this friends is that if Satan was already bound would we see the evil in the world that we see today? I think not. I am a preacher as well as a nineteen year veteran of a corrections facility and I see the devil's work everyday. I've seen people foaming at the mouth, I've seen them change totally in attitude and voice, I've been praying for them and had them turn toward me and say don't mess with my mind. So if Satan's work is manifest in our world I truly believe that our Lord will set up a literal kingdom on this earth, bereft of the influence of Satan, where He will rule the nations with a rod of iron to show those who live at that time that the world can live without evil. Thanks for your time, God Bless and keep you, and love in Christ to each of you...Signed.

E-Mail - Now in the second verse I get that we must be like minded, but if there is an occasion of disagreement we must not have strife or be vainglorious in our approach in correction. We must be meek and lowly lifting up each other and not putting each other down in our reproach of people. What I'm saying is people don"t dislike you because of your teachings, they dislike you because you make it seem that you know it all and even though you profess you will admit when you are wrong I think that might be hard for you because of your demeanor.

E-Mail Question - First, I want to say that I agree with much of what you say. However, the way you present your answers is not biblical. You must be patient and long suffering with people. You must stop making people feel stupid by your answers. Did not our Lord Jesus say that we must love our neighbor as ourselves. If you intend to reprove and rebuke people you can not do it with high mindedness, arrogance, or without love in your heart for those you are trying to correct. You are big on quoting scripture on everything, which is good and right. You also preach about denominational preachers as being false teachers, and more or less lower than the dogs who licked Lazarus' sores. You never quite say it plainly, but you seem to indicate that your church and your teachings are the only way of salvation. My friends, I have seen people saved in all kinds of churches. have seen them called by the spirit to repentance. I have seen the elders of different churches lay hands on the sick and them recover. Which tells me the work of the Holy Ghost is present even in those churches. So, I do not understand how you are not also a denominational church. Is the Church of Christ not a denomination? Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

E-Mail Question - I was raised in a religious tradition that concluded that for a Christian woman, modest apparel equals wearing a dress. My Christian mother always wore a dress and the only women I saw at the congregation I attended were wearing dresses. I was taught to have a certain distain for women who said they were Christians but wore pants and especially for one who came to church wearing pants. I believe after reading the Bible that this traditional conclusion is wrong. I've done a Bible study on thie topic and have found that the only people in the Bible that the only people who wore breeches was the priesthood under the Mosical Law. My study found that in both in the Old and New Testament period the clothing of both men and women were remarkably simular, called tunics, the man's being shorter that the womens. I recently had a discussion with a woan who holds this tradition and when I gave her Biblical and historical evidence showing that there is no Bible mandate that concludes modest apparel equals wearing a dress, she promptly gave Deuteronomy 22:5 concluding that which pertaineth to a man for our day means pants. In Deuteronomy 22:5, my study found that, that which pertineth to a man is that which is worn to battle, war-gear, and would apply if applicable in our day to war-gear also to be consistent. This ady informed me that I was going against the old time preachers when I differed with her religion and I needed to repent. My question to you is, is this woman and the old time preachers right to demand Christian women to wear dresses only to be in modest apparel, or are they wrong in following a handed down tradition that the Bible does not agree with? I'm sure you ahve dealt with this topic before but there are still Christians that strongly hold to the conclusion modest apparel equals wearing a dress and oppose those who differ in the strongest of ways almost to the point of anathematizing them. I feel that the Bible doers oppose wuch a tradition and would like your imput.

E-Mail Question - Wesley, You made much more of a "to-do" over the word "sing" than I made over the Greek definition of the two words, Psalm, & Psalms. It's obvious you and I will never agree on this issue either. You continue to misrepresent what I mean when I say you are 99 & 44/100% right. I MEAN THAT YOU ARE TOTALLY WRONG! IT'S THE 56/100% LIES AND FALSE TEACHING THAT YOU SUBTILLY MIX WITH THE TRUTH OF GOD'S WORD THAT MAKES YOUR TEACHING FALSE! That is what I mean when I refer to 99 & 44/100% Wesley. You know what I really mean but you can't resist twisting even that truth and changing it into a LIE. That is just one more proof that you truly are a False Teacher. Sincerely in Christ,;
